During the Miami/Wash St half time show, they are talking about next year that a 5-7 team will no longer be allowed in a bowl game. Obviously Nebraska and a few others are lucky this year that the NCAA rules states that we can participate. Personally I believe that the rule should be changed. Not good enough to have a winning record, then sit at home and watch winners play. Enough of the participation trophies. Your thoughts.

I remember when they tried/did it, there were a handful of protesters outside of the stadium (I think) and of coarse it was on the news. The date, no clue, all I remember was sometime I was at home on leave with the Navy.

Although I miss the Big 8 games, I would rather see Iowa after T-Day then Colorado anyday.

Exactly, "Thru These Gates". We are not in those gates, we are safely at home (Well I hope we are). Meaning in those gates you will see the best fans cheer their team and the opposing when they walk off the field. On this side of those gates, we are Fans that can take a load off and vent our frustrations. I might have seen a couple of posts from members that said they are thru, but for the rest, I have yet to see them say F* the Huskers, I am now a _______ Fan. Just because people lay into this coaching staff and not butter up to them does not mean they aren't great fans. Should we be cheering " Only lost by 2 points this time, great job guys, do better next time"?

Do you at least admit that the constant negativity and criticism has the potential to harm the program? And NO potential to help at this point? Haha it's part of being a fan, we're allowed to be negative because we care deeply about the team and get upset when we see the team struggling. Now if our administration fired a coach every season they didn't win a national championship then that would have potential to harm the program. What is going on at Rutgers and Maryland has potential to harm a program. Fans that speak negatively? That happens everywhere across the country. Alabama fans call for Saban's head whenever Bama loses, and he's won three national championships over there. Hell. I remember when Saban lost his first game after all the championships. A fan sold all his Alabama gear and said he wouldn't be a fan until they fired Saban. Fans are definitely crazy every where when they are used to winning. If they don't want that type of negativity, go to Wyoming or FAU or even Oregon State.
