  1. Osborne? good one. just look at the associate head coach and that is your answer.
  2. did this exact same post in another thread not get enough attention so you needed your own thread?
  3. The fact he knew about it preserving a national championship means that it was told to him at one point....so yes I'm still positive that your history lesson is being taught in some capacity.
  4. you're right, get the AD on the horn, fire bo, yada yada yada
  5. There are obviously a good bunch, but the people who are the loudest on here do not have season tickets. Go to the game log and start checking off names.
  6. cripes...ameer abdullah being mentored by ahman green this year and discussing breaking down film of the way he used to run, Johnny Rodgers hanging around practice week with kenny bell, lineman talking about the pipeline in the off season, the entire '95 team being on the field prior the Miami game, Brendan stai is on the staff, and that's just off the top of my head from this season.
  7. Oh trust me, I understand what you are trying to say. you want a mindset to change, to respect the past, and live up to the standards that have been expected for years. It's a fantastic idea and I'm sure in some capacity is being used. But you have yet to understand that one day in fall camp is not going to ingrain anything...it takes time
  8. Ya, lets just do nothing so they have no understanding to build on while they are here. Kind of like how we start kids with advanced math before teaching them how to add and subtract. Makes sense. I truly hope you don't believe the coaches don't do anything to tell these guys about Nebraska both while they are in school or before. The recruiting process is literally there to tell the kids all about Nebraska, they don't just go for a visit out of the blue. They are told about the blackshirts, the history, all the bells and whistles to get them excited to come to campus. On their visits, they walk them all around the facilities see the names, the pictures, trophies, etc that they've been telling them about for usually months. The addition and subtraction part of your advanced math theory is started well before these kids sign and come to campus.
  9. One day of coaches/players telling you what it is to be a husker isn't going to do much. The pride that ex players talk about is literally from being there all four years and buying into a program. 4/5 years of walking around the weight room, the trophies, the people, the reminders of the past that truly bring out a lot more pride.
  10. So you want them to re-recruit them? Those are all selling points and a lot of times why the kids come to Nebraska. If by bring in Jason Peter to psyche them up is what you meant, then sure they can maybe do that
  11. Lets assume you had a daughter and she had a dance recital coming up. Would you go to it? Funny you say that - I have TWO daughters, actually. Eight and eleven. Both are honors students and are active in extra-curricular activities at school and our church. So obviously, our time is precious to us as a family of four. Now, if we think that any of the people in charge of that extra-curricular activity aren't giving their 100% level best...we don't let my children participate in it. Why? Because we are teaching our kids to give their best for what they believe in. And we communicate that to them. Everybody, especially leadership, must do their part for success. So, to your argument - if the ballet instructor was late all the time and not showing up on time - well, my daughter isn't participating in that instructor's class. Equate that to a parent with their son, sitting in their living room. Mark Pelini is sitting on their loveseat, trying to convince them to let their son come hundreds of miles, hours away from their home. And that parent watched the Wisconsin game with their son. What do you think that parent would say? See how that works? Your time is pretty precious, yet you are replying on a message board? I do have free time, slick. All of my time isn't devoted to ballet recitals Whew, that would be rough. Especially the honor student level ballet recitals, just the worst amiright?

  13. Stuck in neutral....with the #9 rushing offense in the country? Averaging 6 yards a carry Is beck running for those yards that make us the #9 rushing offense in the country? A lot of it is the fact that we have a running back who is just that good...I think I could call an offense with AA and have them ranked #9 nationally in rushing. Really that's pretty mediocre in NCAA 14, but good effort.
  14. Keep Fightin the fight for the chubbers Polo! They're like mopeds, kimosabe. Fun to ride, but you don't want your friends to see you on one. I hear ya
  15. So you are and aren't a sunshine pumper depending on how the game turns out? Got it
  16. i don't think that qualifies as proof, good story though.
  17. Rivalries aren't made after being in a conference for 4 years, no matter how much the B10 wants to tell the teams who their rivals are. With that being said, I could see myself not liking Mich State.
  18. The advantage is the fact that the defensive player mimicking the hand clap would have to physically do the action to replicate, causing a referee to see them trying to induce a premature snap. It's easier defensively to verbally say the cadence and take the "it wasn't me" stance. Either way using it to direct your defensive calls is a clever deflection to say it wasn't me, but it can be refuted by looking at tape and prior games. Bo is bringing it up to B10, to publicly let Dantonio know he's on to it.
  19. Per Joe Ganz's profile on the team website... "A record-setting quarterback for the Huskers, Joe Ganz has been elevated to a graduate assistant role in 2012 in his third year on the Nebraska coaching staff. Previously, Ganz served as a football intern and graduate manager in 2010 and 2011. Ganz works extensively with the Husker quarterbacks, in addition to helping offensive coordinator Tim Beck in a variety of roles." That's your QB coach/on field coach dedicated to calming down TA. Literally the first person TA visits when he comes off the field. I understand he's not full time according to HR payroll, but i think most can agree his job is to work with the QB's.
  20. That we don't take no sh*t And abdullah is an even more stud that normally thought
  21. we are lean because Nebraska doesn't sign 30 kids a class and cut the non performers, injured players, grayshirt, etc to get down to the 85 by the end of fall camp. is that what you're getting at with these threads? Become more like the SEC?
  22. Good info on athletic scholarships at USC, take with a grain of salt since costs are obviously way different between Nebraska and USC....just posted to show what is covered under a scholarship there including summer session information. Off campus living gets a stipend, at USC its under $1,500 so i would assumed Nebraska to be approximately $500 a month, if you are enrolled in classes (including summer session). http://www.usc.edu/admission/fa/grants_scholarships/undergraduates/athleticawards.html
  23. 8/10/14 and we're already blaming the strength and conditioning staff? Relax and let's just make it to the season. Dobson has been the strength coach for more than the past two seasons and we've been just fine. Injuries happen and moving forward is all you can do.
