  1. The Alabama boosters are willing to go to the next level. Our boosters have money, but not sure if we could get to that level or if we even should. The article from earlier this year was interesting also. 8759 square foot house with diamonds all over the place and access to a lake with jet skis. Combine that with a track record of competing for championships and putting players in the pros, why would a recruit turn that down? When Saban retires, they will go after the best of the best. Maybe even alumni Dabo. Petty easy to do if boosters are going to pick up the majority of the tab.
  2. They're scared they are going to lose their coach to his alma mater. We would do the same in their shoes. See my reply to famoustitles.
  3. Does that have anything to do with Husker fans trolling on UCF boards? Does that make it better somehow? It doesn't help that the Husker fans trolling the UCF boards (the ones I've read anyway) are idiots. Would be different if they were at least funny.
  4. Can we all agree that Husker fans trolling on a UCF message board is pretty lame? The few I have seen have a combined IQ of about 40. They are making our fanbase look pretty stupid.
  5. The games in on Youtube, but has a wonky aspect ratio.
  6. Was that when ISU was going with the red helmets for their MVP from the previous week? I think it was McBride that said it made it easy for the defense to key on that player?
  7. Bus? No, he's throwing them under the "boss". See the @timmytbro posts.
  8. After watching his practice video, I wonder if he could change his name to Frosty Scott and get 4 more years of eligibility? We would literally have our coach on the field.
  9. Also, message board Husker fans will freak out if they lose a game with a bunch of "I told you he wasn't our best option." That's kind of what we are known for now.
  10. I played HS football with 2 kids in the mid-80s that turned down scholarships from ISU, KSU, KS, WY, Iowa, and other schools to walk on at Nebraska. They both had talent but fizzled out. That was mid-80s tuition costs. Unless money isn't an issue for the parents, I can't imagine turning down a full-ride to walk on with tuition costs now. <---- Parent of a kid that was only offered a basic academic scholarship to UNL but earned a complete full-ride academic scholarship to an out-of-state P5 school. First semester cost $12.50 only because her dorm is nicer than a 4-star hotel.
  11. At his age, I could see Moos being a 2-3 year hatchet man. Make the tough hires and fires and ride off into the sunset. Literally. Maybe raise some money along the way. He appears to be a great fit for our culture, especially the rural sector. Rimington came in as a temp on short notice. He has unfinished business at the Esiason Foundation. 2-3 years should be plenty to get his replacement up to speed. This is all speculation on my part, not a Rumor, but maybe it belongs in Rumorville.
  12. it didn't look like we belonged in the same football division as tOSU. I would say we looked like a scout team, but their scout team probably puts up more of a fight. Tanner Lee and JD Spielman played well.
  13. I think if we lose by 1 score to Wisconsin, the fans would be a little more optimistic about this one. Combine that with the above and it makes it a tough one to go to. I think the attendance might be better if it was a 2:30 game when you factor in the weather. I would go if I didn't have other obligations before gametime, but I also have places to stay in Lincoln for free.
  14. Dang when I sat in club seats about 15 years ago they had spinach and artichoke dip, and awesome brisket sandwiches up there. Got tickets off the street for ~$40 each for Kansas. Had to tell my son that we won't have these seats and food for every game we go to.
  15. I think Frost would understand the warts and challenges at Nebraska as well as anyone. He witnessed getting booed at home while playing... UCF in '97.
  16. I guess I like Frost because I see him as our best chance for long term stability. When Riley was hired, many people were commenting that he would retire after 5-6 years, then we would go after Frost if he showed potential. Well, it looks like that timeline has been cut a short. It's very possible it's our last shot at Frost. Sure it would probably take Frost a couple of years to show results, but I would hope (maybe unrealistic) that the fan base would be patient. I think stability is what we need most right now.
  17. We don't have anything close to Wisconsin's linebackers. Just compare how they look to ours, especially in the middle. They are what we thought they were. We are behind. People want to say we have more talent than Wisconsin. I call bulls#!t. The star ratings that come in as true freshman don't matter as much as the talent you put on the field. That's player development and coaching. Areas we are lacking.
  18. There is something to be said for doing things differently. You can recruit players that other programs may be overlooking. Players that fit your system. Do we really want to be like the majority of other Big 10 teams on offense? That's where I see us heading now. Can we out recruit those teams for the same players in their own back yard? What about players in their own back yard that fit our system but not theirs?
  19. I think we can almost all agree that we would prefer if Frost had just a couple more years at UCF before we were looking for a coach again. The timing would have been much better. Doesn't look like that is going to happen. Are we willing to pass on Frost knowing this might be the last chance we get? I'm not 100% sold on Frost right now, but he might be worth the risk. I don't think there is a coach available that would be a sure thing.
  20. We didn't play Rutgers last year. Rutgers looked tough in the first half against Washington this year, then lost to Eastern Michigan. I wouldn't take us against anyone as a double digit favorite this year or the last few years.
