  1. Man would I welcome the sight of a 11-1 BCS eligible team. Who plays clean, sound football, and gets the most out of what little talent they can bring in. . In all seriousness, if thats what it takes, then go out and get experienced 2 year contributors.
  2. My local high school team is ready to play Nebraska For the love of god no jet sweeps...Please
  3. This thread comes up after every loss, and the exact same coaches are mentioned. Why again?
  4. It's not a program changing loss..Not yet anyways. If the wheels fall off the bus in our bowl game and into early next season (UCLA), this game could be "the one that defines Pelini's tenure." Thus resulting in another coaching carousel. I haven't given up hope, but we field the exact same inconsistent, penalty, fumble ridden team practically every single week. I do agree coordinator changes need to be made. Its what good coaches do, look at Bielema firing his oline coach midseason, and look at what that same oline did to our defense. You've got to grow some balls, and fix whats wrong. It's why you get paid 3 million + a year. do you think Pelini is the guy? Unless you answer "Yes, absolutely" then get back on the carousel. If you know a guy is not 'the guy' then why keep him? If you knew your spouse was wrong for you after a couple years, do you get the divorce or say "well, there hasn't been any abuse, so lets stay miserable?" This has yet to be determined. He has shown improvement but major letdowns. step back from the ledge man. Its simply a football game and I was responding to a post, not a relationship, marriage or friendship.

  6. Not as long as Burkhead stays healthy. He will most likely be the back in all goal line situations.
  7. RB, WR's, and occasionally the QB position impressed me. On the other hand, the secondary has got to go up and make plays on the ball. I support the walk-on program, but seriously get Blachford out of the game. It's almost as if the coaches gave him the nod because of how he performed last year against Mich State. I would much rather have an athletic player out their making a few mistakes, than a player who knows what he's suppose to do, but just cant physically or athletically do it.
  8. Agree with this. Our offense would be unstoppable with a capable oline
  9. We have a drastic talent deficiency on the offensive and defensive lines and thats where big games are won. I love the fact that we can put up loads of yards against a stout defense, but the oline consistently misses assignments, is horrible in pass coverage, and is just as dismal against runs up the gut. Tmart, Abdullah, and the receiving corps are constantly bailing the line out of said mistakes. I'm willing to give Kaz a chance to coach up the up and comers on the defensive front, but Cotton just isn't getting the job done for me. It would be nice to see this offense operate with a manageable coach, and talent.
  10. Well you can certainly say that Michigan had a helluva lot better chance with Dennard, than without him.. .... Bellomy only completed 2 passes... And the strategy on defense completely changed......we were able to blitz him. Nebraska may have won, with Dennard in there but to say we would have won for sure, is total BS. Because Dennard is a helluva lot better than that guy that replaced him.. And? This Nebraska team has tons of miles to go to be even considered to be at Alabama's level. If you ask me? The ground between Alabama, is wideing at an alarming rate... Alabama is in a league of their own..Top notch coaching and recruiting. Seasons only half over but if they keep this up, they may be one of the best college teams ever to play the game..behind only our beloved 71 and 95 Huskers
  11. Big game..On the road...Nationally televised...I can see how we are not favored..We have a history of blowing these games. On that note, we are playing against a pro style team which Pelini has shown he can stop. No turnovers, very little stupid penalties, and we win this game.
  12. ^^^Agreed..Enjoy the win..We still have stuff to work on but this is a good start.
  13. Our revenge tour continues....hell yes... Then you have the turnovers, penalties, and questionable play calls..plenty that still needs to be fixed
  14. Still have a long road ahead of us (Penn State, Mich State, and Iowa are no gimmes). For some reason we still can not figure out the penalties and turnovers..Its frustrating. However, a win is a win..Good luck the rest of the way Michiganman
  15. Happy with the win..Still gotta clean up the turnovers and penalties (It sounds like a broken record)..They are killing us. On a side note..and I hate to say it...Notre Dame is a very good team (especially defensively).
  16. They tried Colter at QB plenty in the 1st quarter. It wasnt working. Biggest mistake by NW is that they didnt stick with it. Oh well. But it's not that they never used him there. He is their best playmaker. Give him the ball every play. One big play from Colter and Nebraska's defense and coaching staff are reeling (see OSU). Thats what worries me about Dennard, it's not if but when he makes that big play.
  17. Our scheme hardly changed against Northwestern. They had a horrible game plan and hardly played Kolter at QB..He was never given the chance to get into any kind of rhythm. Siemian has O.K. mobility, but he is more of the drop back passer that our defense can usually stop. We will have to change our scheme completely to stop Dennard. Bring pressure from every direction or spy virtually every play.
  18. I'm glad you mentioned this What the hell was Compton doing? He was unblocked, and literally stutter stepped his way to the QB. Just lay the f'n wood man. Another example of thinking way too much instead of just playing the game. It would make sense if it was Simien. We wouldn't want to hurt him and leave only Kolter as QB. Remember what happened last year? Maybe we learned something. Not sure if your serious with that statement I'm not sure either. I can seriously say I was glad they didn't do a 90/10 split with Kolter/Siemian at QB. Agree completely. Northwestern had a horrible game plan. Had they played Kolter at QB for the majority, if not all of the snaps, this game ends differently IMO.

  21. Their is a good majority of husker board members (old and new) that act like a bunch of arguing teenage girls when a loss occurs....When I joined I thought this would be more mature than facebook. I'm beginning to second guess that logic.
  22. I will reserve any celebration until I see a link..but if true...holy crap!!
  23. Meredith standing up is not a 3-4 in my book..see above..in no way is he effective as a linebacker or defensive end. If you want a true 3-4..use Martin as that 4th L-backer...he has the speed to cover the flat as well as the strength and speed to beat the o-line and lay the smack down on the QB
