  1. I don't get that feeling that people have that Frost needs more time at UCF or another school, and then he can come to NU. If NU doesn't go after Frost this year, they will most likely not have another chance. The timing of a hire depends on a lot of luck, and if NU doesn't make a move on Frost this year, I don't see the timing working out well again.
  2. Whenever my wife makes baked beans, she likes to have them with potato chips. We call them Redneck Nachos. Sorry, no pics right now.
  3. Dabo Swinney is a Bama grad, so I would assume he would be the first person to get contacted when Saban retires. After that, I have no clue. They could very well be in the same situation when they tried to replace Bear Bryant in the early 1980s.
  4. Tom Herman, James Franklin (I would compare Vandy to UCF in terms of success), PJ Fleck, and Jeff Brohm are all guys who are similar to Frost in age and experience, who have been hired by Power 5 schools in the past few years.
  5. That's the stadium in Little Rock, where Arkansas plays occasionally. I do know that Leach mentioned Little Rock specifically. University of Arkansas is in Fayatteville.
  6. I don't get the thought that Frost needs more time to prove himself. Coaches with his amount of experience are getting hired all over the place, even at big P5 schools.
  7. Mike Leach is great. I am terrible at uploading videos on here, but there is an awesome one from earlier this year where he talks about a couple QB's at Tech who couldn't throw a shovel pass. Watching him demonstrate it is so funny.
  8. There's a South Park joke in there somewhere.
  9. I thought Goldie Hawn was a great coach for the Central High Wildcats. I was surprised when I didn't see her get past the high school ranks of inner-city Chicago. That was a documentary, right?
  10. I say we just let Riley move back to Oregon to spend his golden years there.
  11. I knew it would be thrown back in my face, as soon as I was typing it out.
  12. I know I can be overly critical, which can get old, too. So, yes, pot meet kettle.
  13. I've had guacamole on nachos, which is basically mashed up avocados. The sliced avocado seems to enable you to ration out your avocado goodness.
  14. So he can name Langsdorf the head coach? No thanks. I am sure Riley is a very nice man, but I wouldn't consider him a candidate for the AD job. NU needs some new blood in here.
  15. I would like avocado pieces on nachos. Always room for avocados.
  16. I think most of us on here wanted a true "national search", and we are getting that. If a new head coach will be needed, I am sure it will also be a national search, but I think Frost should be at the top of the list. I am sure there are other P5 schools with Frost in their sights, as well.
  17. Man, your refusal to be critical at all really gets old.
  18. I saw that same interview. Extremely sad to watch.
  19. Mike'l Severe just tweeted that Trev Alberts is not a candidate for the NU AD job.

@Mike McdeeI'm with you. They are probably going to hire a very qualified candidate, who we know very little about.  But, it's not a one man search like the last one was.

      Good. Now Dave must stay.

It’s so obvious you guise. They talked to Trev and found out he doesn’t like Scott. Name removed from consideration.

  21. Orgeron's payout would be $12 million if he's fired after this year. This would be on top of the $9 million that is still being payed Les Miles. LSU isn't going to fire Orgeron unless that place turns into a total dumpster fire.
  22. Yes, I understand, but Riley still gives off a distant vibe during games and in no way should be compared to Osborne. To me, they are completely different during how they work during games.
  23. The comparison to Riley's and Osborne's demeanor during a game is laughbable. When I watched Osborne, I saw a coach who was deeply invested in every play, while also remaining calm on the sidelines. It helped that he was calling the offensive plays, but he wasn't afraid to go up to a player who messed up during a game and talk to him. I have heard countless stories from former players that it was the worst to have Tom look at them like he was disappointed in them. In Riley, I see a guy who doesn't seem invested in the game 100% of the time. He looks aloof and disinterested at times. The TV coverage will show numerous times with Riley just standing there, with his headset microphone up to his ear, so I have no idea how much communication he is having with his coaches. To me, it's like Riley is observing the game, rather than coaching the game. EDIT: Riley seems to want to leave the in-game coaching to his coordinators and assistants. While I understand he wants to be a CEO type coach, but I don't get how the guy who oversees everything can be so distant during the games.
  24. The assistant principal and a social studies teacher at my son's school was at the concert on Sunday night. The AP got hit with some shrapnel in his back, but his injuries aren't expected to be serious. It hasn't been reported, but I have heard the AP held a woman in his arms as she died. I couldn't fathom experiencing that.
  25. Ed Orgeron has a $12 million buyout if he's first in his first year at LSU.  That will get him some job security.

And I think he had a 5-7 year at Ole Miss his only previous experience as a HC . Orgeron has talent up the wazoo too.  DONU's cupboards were pretty bare.  We're not looking so bad.
