  1. I just got done watching Hemlock Grove. Not bad if you like the super natural kinda shows. It is somewhat hard to follow though.
  2. That wouldn't be bad. My only question would be, how do you figure out who goes to the CCG? I am sure there is some math genius that can figure out tie-breakers Ha probably. My only thought would be this: If the format goes like you explained, you would basically have 2 10-team divisions each year that play round robin, but the teams in those divisions would rotate each year. So you could just take the best records out of each "division" which is made up of 2 of the pods and put them up against each other for the CCG. This would be about the only option you would have unless they could find a way to have the best of each pod play a semi-final game to determine who goes to the CCG. Those games could also rotate to make it so each team that wins a pod plays a different pod for the semi game each year.
  3. He has an odd running style but it is effective. Good at making people miss and is a tough runner. Doesn't look to fast but is fast enough to get by some.
  4. I suspect that crossing the Rocky Mountains might change the price . . . In that case they should get to work. Maybe we'll come up with a better energy option than tar sands in those 20 years. I know at one time, a refinery was looked at being built in between Souix City and Souix Falls but couldn't get the paperwork passed for them to start building. it took 6 yrs for them to get the paperwork altogether and submitted. are you talking about hyperion? No...I believe it was Cenex that was trying. They are a big player up in that area when it comes to refined products.

  6. Refineries can be built and the oil is going to be exported to China regardless of where it is refined. That's interesting. Canadians prefer that their pipeline go across US land instead of Canadian land? I wonder why that would be . . . We'll see. My guess is that big money/big business will win. Pipeline companies want their product to travel further. That is how they make their money, off of tariffs and storage fees. They wouldn't make as much if the pipeline went across Canada as oppossed to the US. It would be cheaper for them to put it in across Canada but thats about it. As far as building refineries, it takes about 20yrs to start one from the ground up and to get it running.
  7. Don't worry about the ethanol plants shutting down because by the end of the summer, all gas will have atleast a 10% blend in them. This even goes for the premium gas.
  8. How often do trains wreck? Not that damned often. By all means, lets roll some dice on ruining the ground water for a farming state so a few people can make a ton of money. Did you even read the article? "The Arkansas spill was the second incident this week where Canadian crude has spilled in the United States. On Wednesday, a train carrying Canadian crude derailed in Minnesota, spilling 15,000 gallons of oil." Notice the change in units of measure? 15,000 gallons is about 476 barrels. (31.5 gallons to a barrel) There is just a bit more involved to evacuate 22 homes, and create the pic from the top of the thread. The pipeline involved in this leak was 90,000 barrels per day. The XL is planned for 800,000. What is going to be more prone to epic disaster? It is actually 42 gallons to a barrel, not 31.5.
  9. Like them or not, ESPN done a great job with that. My wife started crying when she was watching it.
  10. The LHN could turn into an off channel for BTN and run "other" sports on that channel...Not sure if ESPN would go for it though. If a confrence has a chance to add Texas, you do it. Besides ND, they are the cowbell that can bring more to a confrence then anyone else. I can't stand Texas but would gladly take them in a heartbeat just to make the B1G that much better.
  11. I really don't see an issue with the rings except for the champions part...It is hard to go undefeated and that is an accomplishment that should be celebrated.
  12. I understand being behind Art Briles and possibly James Franklin, but the others, no way.
  13. Was watching CNN this morning and they had Kareem Abdul Jabar on and they asked him about the Rutgers coach. He said it was a disappointment and a coach shouldnt treat kids that way. He said his coach, John Wooden, had a philosaphy that he was there to make sure kids graduated, became good people in society and lastly, teach basketball. This kinda sounds like a coach we have.
  14. I have watched this kid play sports since he was in Jr. high and I will tell you he is one of the most athletic kids I have ever seen. It was a pure whiff on our part for not offering him.
  15. I like this kids film. He has that smooth scrambling ability and looks like he can throw pretty decent on the run. I would still take Zach over him but both if we could.
  16. Delany is saying that the B1G might de-emphasize athletics if O'Bannon wins against the NCAA on "pay for play" for college athletes. This would ruin the B1G if it does happen. I don't know how to share a link but it is a SportsIllustrated piece.
  17. Very true! For an example take insanity. Those people didn't have that muscle mass when they started. They also had a much lower BF% at the end. Let me restate it then. It's impossible for someone who has been lifting for a while and is trying to cut the last few % of their BF not to lose muscle while cutting. For example, professional body builders as they are building in the offseason eat lots of healthy fats and load up on as much carbs, healthy fats, and protein as they can. When they cut fat to prepare for competition, it's a given that they will lose a sizable amount of muscle. Obviously a person like the people on the Biggest Loser who haven't done a physical activity in their lives, yes they will gain some muscle. Anyone who hasn't been on a physical training program will gain muscle after starting to work out. So you're right, my blanket statement was not correct. I was speaking more along the lines of people who have been lifting for a while. Wrong...They do adjust their diet but not as much as you think. They cut the carbs by a lot but will only drop the fats by a little. They also maintain their protein intake and will not change it. They also continue to workout and do more intense cardio to up their fat burn.
  18. Yeah, that is true but you are also dealing with kids that are working out, almost year round, with a coach that is telling them what to do. Not dudes that kind of get to the gym, here and there, basically to see girls, or to escape their families for an hour. I have never stopped working out since being in high school. I lovve to do it and will continue after I heal from my injury. I have seen kids thru the years that were just stacked and couldn't lift sh#t, just naturally ripped. I have also seen kids that were lanky and could lift like no other. It all depends on genetics and effort when it comes to lifting and what you can do. I don't think a lot of people on here are lying when it comes to their bench. I have a good friend that went with me to the gym for the first time in about 10 yrs and he put up 225 for 5 reps. He is not a big guy, just one of those c$%k strong kids that never need to lift.
  19. I do it in 2-3 week cycles so that I don't lose as much muscle when I'm cutting fat. It's going to take a while longer to get to the BF% that I'm striving for (10-12% ideally) but I will feel stronger and bigger once I do. Do you still lift during your cutting periods? Usually during cutting periods, a person will adjust his diet but maintain his lifting schedule. If yours is working great for you, keep on doing it.
