2024 Schedule

Wow... that is a difficult early season schedule. The 3 former conference foes (gotta get 1 win there) then Grand Canyon (1 there at least, 2 will be awesome) and then to the east coast and College of Charleston (ball will be fly that weekend. Tough series). Hoping we can come out of february with 5 wins but reallisticly i see 4. (5 means we win both the GCU and CC series)

Wow that conference schedule looks favorable.  Other than Rutgers & Maryland, I'm not seeing too many heavy hitters.  Could be a good year for the Huskers.

Iowa/Indiana are probably the 2 big favorites to win the Big Ten going in and Nebraska catches both squads at home which is great.

Iowa for sure is the favorite. Loads of depth on the mound. However, they lost their best DH in years when Anthony's season ended. They also lose their 1st baseman who along with Anthony were the offensive leaders. Their strength is their defense. They return their Friday & Saturday starters and though they lost their best setup/bullpen pitcher they shouldn't be short on talent. One set back might be the loss of their catcher. (that's always unpredictable) Still, the schedule sets them up to have the best record in the conference (crap midweek schedule) but they have some huge conference games on the road (at Purdue/Ohio St/Nebraska). They are the favorite but likely "only" because they don't face either Indiana or Maryland until tourney play. Personally I see them as a paper tiger early but if that bullpen is as good as advertised they might push out 40+ wins.

Indiana is less predictable as the talent on that roster is on the offensive side and weather can play a huge part in that. Their ACE is out for the 2024 season with injury, their top hitter/middle infielder is gone (drafted) and their next best bat/center fielder transferred. They had a huge recruiting year 2 years ago so the talent exists, it's just unproven. They'll either win 35+ or struggle to win 30.

The B1G scheduling is just pure crap..

How can Iowa not play either Indiana or Maryland though they do have Michigan at home.. Still, such a soft B1G schedule. Indiana on the other hand is a solid schedule as is Nebraska's. Makes no sense how unbalanced B1G schedules are. Really is disgusting to say the least.

Schedule Comparisons: (Iowa's is crap in the order of difficulty when compared to Indiana & Nebraska)
