LETS BEAT WAKE FOREST FIRST

Agreed

But as far as the topic is concerned, tearing down goal posts is busch league.

Wake Forest is next??? Crap.... I already had 37-24 penciled in. :sarcasm

Also, could you combine this thread with the other 4 discussing this exact same issue in June, and in April, and in February?

I agree....don't tear down the goalposts. However, can you all imagine the release of all of the pent-up frustration by Nebraska fans over the last seven years, should we beat USC? This state will be going nuts!!!!! Hopefully, the fans will not have any energy left to tear down the goalposts, as they will have yelled their butts off. Let's all party on "O" Street after the game...not on the field!

I dont think that you can say that tearing down a goal post is a classless act. and if you think about it most of the people that would be try to take them down would be students. i really do not think that you would see to many people above the age of 30 out there anyway. and for those students what have they had to be happy or excited about.

when i was at the ASU game in Tempe when they beat the Huskers, those ASU students tore down the goalposts and carried them down University Ave and planted one of them at a local bar.

I dont think that anyone would think less of the Husker Fans if the student section rushed the field and tore them down. Now if there was a bunch of old f-ers like me making an ass out of ourselfs then maybe

God HR, if you are an old F'er what does that make me... :)

I say NO, act like you been there...however students will be students :bonez and that's ok too.

GO BIG RED!!!!

I'll drag your a$$ out there!

No. But I'll tell you what I will do if we beat USC... I'm going to get a girl pregnant just so I can tell my kid he was conceived on the day we beat the #1 team in the nation.

Hmm, Lets see a night game probably with a bunch of drunk students and having their team finally getting a win against a top rated team let alone the number one team in the nation at the time. I would say those goal post wouldn't stand a chance.

I could see some people celebrating in the middle of Dodge St that night.

Innitially, I was totally against it.

But the more I think about it..If the people that normally yell, "Down in Front" were to say..Scale the short fence surrounding the field (Some of us using our walkers)..Getting Gramma on Grampa's shoulders and trying to hang on a well greased crossbar...There'd be a cover charge.

I heard this discussion on the radio today and I just laughed...

If we beat USC and people try to tear down the goalpost I will be completely embarrassed.

We are so much bigger of a program than this game is. Tearing down goalpost is for nobody's when they beat somebody. Teams tear goalpost down when they beat us, not when we beat them.

I don't think this will ever happen and the people on Sports 590 were idiots for even bringing it up, but I just wanted to know what you guys thought.

I completely agree. People tear down goalposts when they beat us, not when we beat them. Leave the goalposts alone and after we beat USC, act like we have done it a hundred times before.
