junior4949
IMO, no team at the end of the season in the North will be ranked. Whether we win the North or not, I will not be satisfied with that. Quote Link to comment
Wharf Rat
My expectations haven't changed one bit. I said before the season started I'd be happy if this team won the North and managed a top 25 finish when all is said and done. After watching the last three games I think both will be difficult to achieve, especially a top 25 finish. The B12 north is soooo mediocre we still may have a chance to win it even if they keep playing like they have the last three weeks. The top 25 finish will be the ultimate measuring stick in my book. 25th or better = a successful season. Out of the top 25 = not so successful of a season. Have I lowered my expectations? Hell yes I have. Used to be a single loss would put into a tail spin but anymore I just hope we can finish up with 4 or fewer losses for an entire season. I know its sad, but true. zoogs
Let's put it this way: I wouldn't be satisfied unless we won it handily. In other words, dominated the North. If we're fighting for the Big 12 North in our K-State and Colorado games, then it won't be satisfying but acceptable, and then it'll be up to the postseason to make this satisfying, and then to next year. HSKRNOKC
If we win the North and put up a solid performance against OU I'd be happy, but unless Cosgrove really shows some huge changes I will want him gone. WORD Quote Link to comment
huskered17
Win the north and a bowl game, finish with 10 wins. Would do it for me because it looks like it's going to be a tough season from here on out. GBR!!! Quote Link to comment
beany
I won't feel satisfied until the Huskers get their toughness back, their Nebraska toughness that carried them through in the past, win or lose. Anytime a college football player can say, “I think once this defense takes a shot in the mouth, we kind of back off a little bit" you know what the problems are and why the scores and stats are what they are now. Say WHAT?? Can you imagine Grant Wistrom or Christian Peter saying something like that? Well, it was McKeon, the former tough guy on the defense. What happened to him? Is this a permanent change? Is this something coached into him? How many other players feel the same way? I don't care if they lose 5 more games, I just can't stand to see huge holes and 50 yard runs up the middle by our opponents, no matter their rank in the NCAA. Nebraska now has at least one player admitting to "backing off" once they're challenged physically. I'm sorry, but that is death to a football team in any league or division. Quote Link to comment
