DeathCultArmaggedon
Anyone else concerned about the lack of o-line recruits in this year's class? We are doing great with the defensive and offensive skill positions, but from my count, we only have 3 o-linemen coming in: David Grant, Brandon Thompson and Ricky Henry. Baker will probably play DT. Am I being paranoid, or is this a real cause for concern? Quote Link to comment
BOBELIEVER
from what I've read I don't think Baker cares where he plays as long as he gets to crush people Quote Link to comment
melscott62
dont forget that kid from omaha tha is walking on. he was a 2 star recruit for buffalo. Quote Link to comment
RedDenver
We have quite a few OL already on the roster, and many of them underclassmen. I think we'll be fine with only taking 3. If Baker ends up on OL, then we'll have 4 which seems pretty typical number to me. Plus, as already mentioned, we have some walk-ons who may develop. Quote Link to comment

MadcatNU
a little, especially since i'm not real confident in the under classmen we have now. The 2* walk on makes me feel a little better, but i am concerned too. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
Plus Justin Jackson of Norris, NE is walking on. He's 6-4 250lb. May play D-Line also. Sure we don't have the stellar uber recruits before Callahan got the axe that since jumped. I know the O-Line was supposed to have been a priority this class because of only 2 O-line recruits in the 2007 class. Maybe they can add a couple more walk ons. It will REALLY have to be addressed again with the 2009 class. Quote Link to comment

A poor o-line can usually cause the downfall of an otherwise talented team. Quote Link to comment
huskerguy
We will be fine... we've got quite a bit young talent... We're loading up on the DBs and Athletes right now so we can have depth, but I would think next year we will go after more linemen and a more balanced class Quote Link to comment
HANC
IMO, there is no need to worry.........we have a wealth of young talent on the OL.......... and I think that because the OL is so important, Baker will end up on OL, not DL..........depending on the scheme, we can surely find able bodies to plug 2 DT easier than 4 OL spots........ As many said, I think next season we return to the offensive side of the ball for recruiting...........no suprise that a HC/DC at a school that sucked like we did on D, is focusing almost all of the attention to the D side of the ball..........and speed !!!!!! BIGREDIOWAN
I think we will be fine and next year you will see a lot of recruits on the O-line and D-line. We needed to get some people in skill positions and we are addressing that. Also, if you look alot of the guys that we are getting are a lot faster which is going to help. Quote Link to comment
BOBELIEVER
and make no mistake about it.. OL and DL is the key to building championship teams.. just ask LSU Quote Link to comment
NoLongerN
I'm always amazed how people on our board talk with such confidence like they really know what the hell they are talking about! I'm just a fan who wants to win a championship ... I just don't know enough to make many of the statements people make on this and various threads. At best, we are all "hoping" for the best. I "hope" Bo can take us their, based off what I have seen from him in a year hear at Nebraska and his time at LSU ... but I have no "football knowledge" to "judge" what really happens. I am a big fan ... I'm all "N" ... and that is a fact. I do enjoy really all the posts! Quote Link to comment
BigWillie
Our offensive line is the LAST position you need to worry about us having talent at. Burkes SO DJ Jones rSO M. Jones rFR Williams rSO Smith rSO Barrett rSO Then you throw in the freshmen -- Thompson and Grant. That's just in young talent. Throw in Murtha, Slauson, Hickman, Christensen, Henry and Huff as upperclassmen and we're more than fine there. Baker has AA talent on both sides of the ball. But we need him MUCH worse on the defensive side of the ball than the offensive side. Plus, he may have more un-tapped potential at d-tackle than he does on the offensive side. Quote Link to comment
