DJR313
Nicks was the second largest player at 341 lbs. For Purify's size, 4.53 is a damn good time. Quote Link to comment

Sounds like Nick's stood out a little: Carl Nicks, OT, Nebraska: Nicks displayed his athletic side, running his 40's in the low 5.10 second range after completing 31 reps on the bench. He also looked very solid during the drill session showing solid footwork and movement skills. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/foot...ex.html?eref=T1 Quote Link to comment

zoogs
Purify's vertical seems low... Quote Link to comment
KansasHusker
Purify's vertical seems low... No joke. Is it just me or didn't it seem like he had pretty good leaping ability in games? I'm not sure where his draft stock is right now. With Bowman and Blythe both running bad 40's a 4.53 from Mo isn't too bad. Quote Link to comment
Landlord
Mo looked good from what I saw on NFL network two drops, but when he did well he looked really good. Also was rocking some awesome goggles. Quote Link to comment
KansasHusker
After updating it was a little surprising to see that Octavien ran a 4.67. I was thinking low 4.6 or maybe breaking under 4.6, but after seeing the other Big 12 LB's times I'm not too worried about it. I thought ISU's Bowen was surely at least a 4.6 guy and he ended up running a 4.89??? Only 15 reps too. I always thought he played a lot faster than that. The 40 times once guys get to the combine always puzzle me. They are never what you think at certain positions. I actually think that players can play faster on the field rather than what their 40 shows. Quote Link to comment

Yeah...that makes it a bit better for him. It seems like Linebacker 40's are down this year some. Quote Link to comment
NU fan in Denver
Does anyone ever wonder how everyone coming out of hs runs a 4.4 or 4.5 on Rivals. Then when they are tested in the combine, 4.5, 4.6, 4.7's are the norm? Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Different track? People who run at college pro days also record faster numbers usually, I think, because of the faster track. Also, with HS kids, these are all very unofficial times...even at the pro level, unofficial tends to be faster than official. There's probably a lot of fudging going on... Quote Link to comment
sea o' red
Anybody else hear about that Eastern Carolina University RB that ran a 4.24 40? His name slips me but the stat just blew me away. Especially with Mike Hart the once-potential heisman running a 4.67 40. Anyways, I hope that is the kind of speed Pelini is trying to recruit to NU. Speed Kills. Quote Link to comment

Rivals always seems to have inflated numbers to sell subscriptions. After further review, Mo's 40 time on rivals when he was recruited was 4.45 and Octaviens was 4.5. Quote Link to comment
Danimal
Limas Sweed did a lot for his stock I think we'll see a fair amount of 'skers do things, there is more talent here than was shown on the field. Quote Link to comment
