HuskerBCS
I thought it was really weird how the KU band would play nearly every time our band was playing in an effort to, what seemed like, drown out our band. I thought bands had some code of respect or something that only one played at a time. And on top of that they would play as loud as they could when we were on offense, presnap to simulate crowd noise or whatever. I know they were just trying to help their team but I thought it was strange. End Rant Quote Link to comment
huskeraddict
Why did they play at halftime instead of our band? Quote Link to comment
Landlord
I wasn't there, but at the bar I grinned a bit when they put down their instruments and started dancing to Thriller. Quote Link to comment

BigT2454
I was thinking the same thing. It was really annoying to hear the Nebraska band start to play than the KU band would start. They would also play ever time we did something well. I think it was the "jeepers creepers" tune. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt316
The opposing band shouldn't be allowed into the game. period. Quote Link to comment
huskrplaya
Mizzou was worse...they played their fight song 20 times before the game even started! Quote Link to comment
hack
I hate our band. I wish KU would get rid of the band. They're annoying and their uniforms are embarrassing. there are ways to make that happen... 9cmT8M_67ow Quote Link to comment
SkullandBones
I wasn't there, but at the bar I grinned a bit when they put down their instruments and started dancing to Thriller. yeah, disturbing at best. Quote Link to comment
zE bOp
Seriously, that WOULD be irritating as hell--I'm REALLY picky about music to begin with! I was in the NU band back in '78 and we did have a specific protocol as to 'when to play'. The NU band is, musically, a far better band nowadays is all I know. I gotta free trip to Miami though, that yr(OU/NU rematch ) Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Yeah, that would piss me off! Quote Link to comment
fro daddy
Mizzou was worse...they played their fight song 20 times before the game even started! They had to do plenty of warmups. They knew they were going to be busy! Quote Link to comment
MVPujols
I dont know anything about college band, but I am in high school.. And when we play at a game and another band is there, our field conductors have I guess some sort of way to communicate with the other field conductors, to figure out who plays on what timeout and such. I guess they dont do that, or, maybe KUs band has no class.... Quote Link to comment
eagskerfan
both teams bands played at half time. iwonder if they were having a competition or something and they ddnt announce it. i would have to give the edge to the pride of nebraska! during the game i think ku band played whenever mangino fibished eating a burrito.....which is why the played so often.
