fro daddy
It would be good preperation for the spring but that would be like missouri playing SE mizzou state D-1 AA and D-2 are just a little different... UNL vs. UNO. Bad idea. It would have been a blowout even last year. THats a two level jump. Forget about App St and Mich. That was by far the best 1-AA team playing a 1-A team. UNO is good, but not even a top level D-2 team. NWMSU is one of the top D-2 teams for about 10 years running now and they couldn't sniff D-1A teams. Maybe, just maybe, they could run a little with the absolute worst 2 or 3, but even that is a stretch. It would be no good for either school. UNO would be destroyed, UNL would play the freshman team. It would be a huge waste of time.... much like when I was in 8th grade and ourschools undefeated girls team wanted to play my good 8th grade boys team. Our coach said no for 1 month straight, then finally told the girls coach, "Fine, you get your wish!". They stopped the scrimage before half. It was 64-2, two girls had been hurt and all it did was waste what would have been another practice for our boys team. It was a waste. UNL vs. UNO would be the 8th grade boys vs. 8th grade girls... (funny side note, throughout highschool our team was average, but the girls played in 3 straight state title games) Quote Link to comment

I think the Lions would have dominated any of the top 5 teams this year in college. Quote Link to comment

BuffSurveyor
What an awful idea. Yes, it's a bad idea. I do however, think a matchup between UNO and Colorado State would be interesting. UNO might just make a good game out of it and maybe even pull one off and get a W to hang in their locker room. Quote Link to comment

Captain K
I remember when I was a freshman at UNL, our JV played UNO's JV on a Friday night in Omaha. Turner Gill and Irving Fryar were freshmen on my dorm floor and they played. Fryar sustained some sort of minor injury to his leg. I saw him limping toward the stadium the next morning for the Husker game. If I remember correctly, the score wasn't that out of hand. I could be wrong, though. I'd do a google search, but I'm too lazy tonight. If we still played JV games, this battle of the UN's could still be happening. Between the Varsity's.........probably not. Quote Link to comment

I plugged in NW Missouri and they beat Nebraska...so I think we need to kick CU out of the Big 12 and take NW Missouri. They had a better record this year than 99% of Division I anyway.
