ADS
http://www.fvsports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=143953 The ClarenceCarter guy is an idiot. That guy is definitely an idiot and it's clear he doesn't know WTF he talking about. Just spouting off crap because he wants Green at Texas. He knows nothing. Malcolm Brown's committment to UT will carry no weight with Aaron. Like HuskerJock said above, it does not change a whole lot. The only thing that carries any weight with Aarons decision is what his heart and mind are telling him (not to mention family). Link to comment

That would make alot of sense, but I could also see him visiting early committing early to get the monkey off his back and focus on being a cornhusker and helping Jamal recruit other kids! I remember awhile ago in an interveiw with John Talman he said the process was wearing on him, definite good sign for Nebraska. Link to comment
UDubHusker
My dad just found an article saying he's narrowed his list of 4 down to 2...NU and Cal. I will see if I can find a link and post. Link to comment
hskerholic
you might be thinking of the bleacher report article in which they state the two best choices for AG are Cal and NU. here is the link to the article/discussion already started http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/45592-interesting-article-on-aaron-green/ Link to comment
UDubHusker
Yeah it was but thanks for the confirmation. Link to comment
husker98
so....i haven't read all 20 pages and don't really care too. Can someone who has been plastered too this thread 24/7 give me an idea where we stand with this stud? Link to comment
notherplace93
Not to be a debby downer, but looking at the article on big red report, if its even somewhat true (which Big red report hasn't always proven itself to be)then i don't think we are going to get Aaron. If we do not stand out above the others as a school yet then we never will, b/c he has seen our school like 4 times, not much more we can offer. I would love to be wrong but i just don't think it will happen. I will now go hide as to not be killed by my fellow husker fans. Link to comment
iruletheskool
I wouldn't put much into that article. Link to comment
irieboy8
dont put too much thought into anything until he signs on the line... if anything we've learned that AG keeps stuff close to his chest and basicly talks about every school in the same manner.. including the ones who have been on his list and no longer made his cut.. from previous interviews you thought he was committing to all 7 or 8 or whatever his orginal list was... its just a wait and see.... ADS
Article Aaron Green We dont do percentages around here, but if youre handicapping Greens likelihood to attend Texas with fellow stud running back Malcolm Brown, the odds have gotten A LOT better. There are a couple of forces at play here. A significant amount of moving parts. {Dude}Things have come to light.{/Dude} As far as 2011 is concerned the first domino in the AG sweepstakes has fallen. Austin Seferian-Jenkins is out of the picture when it looked like hed surely eat up a ship. Secondly, it has been said that this is the golden age of Texas recruiting and therefore Mack is going to strike while the iron is hot, in other words, hell take a full class if it means the bluest of the blues. Remember, the staff has even brought up the subject of gray-shirting to at least one member of the current commit list. Thats your tale tell sign. Finally, for the 2011 players in this soap opera, Green has now cooled on going out of state and sees the true value of playing ball close to home, especially now that its cool to be part of a dynamic running back duo instead of being the lone stud. Thank you Reggie and Lendale, Cadillac and Ronnie, Ingram and Richardson. All Green needs to do is recruit Texas a little and this can happen and we hear hes doing just that. And Texas is listening now that Brown has been secured. The one ***** in the armor is how the staff perceives an extra back affecting the talented 2012 crop of running backs. Heres what we heard this week. Johnathan Gray is as good if not better than Malcolm Brown, but there will be a battle for his services with childhood favorite Texas Tech and the usual suspects from out of state. But the staff realizes this will be a battle regardless of whos on the Texas roster in 2011, and Grays the type of back that really isnt scared of competition. At least he shouldnt be. Plus, he knows Kenny Williams will be at Tech and Brandon Williams is already at Oklahoma. So Texas adding Green may not be the deal breaker we thought it was. Also, aside from Gray, theres a feeling from folks who would know that Barry Sanders, Jr. and Trey Williams, two excellent backs, are viable candidates for the 2012 tailback slot if the staff wants two backs in the 2011 class and happen to miss on Gray for whatever reason. Add this all up, and it appears as if the staff is really considering snatching up a specialist like Green. They get the third down back Greg Davis loves as well as an electric return specialist. (Care to guess which returner/speedster Green would be replacing on the current roster during the 2011 season? Hint: Its not Marquis Goodwin.) So Greens recruitment is shaping up to be reminiscent of the fortunate recruiting bounces we got with Mike Davis, Roy Miller, and Christian Scott, but we were probably due for some good news at the running back position. And finally for percentage honks, and at the risk of being dubbed a percentage monkey, Id say were a slight favorite at this point to land Green based on everything were hearing. Call it 40 percent over Nebraska and FSUs 30 percent. Now if you told me the staff truly wants the the lightning to go with Malcom Browns thunder, this percentage doubles. these guys make me laugh Link to comment
epocSoN
It's funny that they think if Texas decides they want Green, they will automatically get him. They didn't have him when they were battling for him before Brown committed, so what makes them so sure if they decide now they want two RBs in this class, Green will bite at the chance to jump on board? Not the case. I still say the chances are more like - Nebraska - 40% Florida State - 30% Cal - 20% Texas - 10% Link to comment
epocSoN
Actually I better than change that. Didn't Florida state pick up WIlder yesterday? So we are the only school on his list yet to take a RB. He's N, screw the percentages. 1 Link to comment

He's N, screw the percentages. FSU picked up James Wilder because they are the only team giving him a shot at runningback. Cal has Daniel lasco committed, and we all know what happened with Malcolm Brown. To me, the concept of Aaron being smitten by the idea of playing second wind to a back like Malcolm brown is almost to much for me to bear. So what if Ronnie Brown/Carnell Williams, White/Bush worked out. Different styles of offense then what texas runs. They might be trying to move to power running but they havnt been able to run the ball consistenly for a while. Link to comment
epocSoN
Yeah FSU picked up Wilder yesterday, I also watch him play. He's definitely the best player on his team, with some work will be a good player. Anyway, here are the people Aaron would be competing with in the schools we are competing with. Nebraska - nobody Cal - Darren Ervin :star - Daniel Lasco :star :star Florida State - Eric Beverly :star - Devonta Freeman :star :star - James Wilder Jr. :star :star Texas - Joe Bergeron :star - Malcolm Brown :star :star Link to comment
