Need help from my fellow Husker Fans

Recommended Posts

This isn't the right place to put this and I will also post this in the Classifieds forum too, I just posted this here because usually everybody comes to the Husker Football column first and spend most of their time here so Mod's please bear with me. Here is what I'm asking:

July 3rd 2010 is the date of my Wedding and I'm trying to think of some ideas for a bachelor party and Vegas did come to mind but that would've been expensive. I know that the best man is suppose to plan the bachelor party but since my brother is my best man as well as my dad I've decided to throw my own bachelor party. My brother wouldn't let me plan his bachelor party so same goes for him and I don't think that my Dad could think of anything to do. Anyways I think that I'm going to have my bachelor party on Sept. 26th during the Louisana-Lafayette game which they'll be celebrating the 300th consecutive sellout.

I'm planning to have all of my groomsman there obviously along with uncles and my father in law and my fiances cousins too. Every year on my dads side of the family all of the guys go to a Nebraska Baseball game and we tailgate, drink beer, BS, and talk Husker Football. Then we'll go to the game and after the game go back to our vehicles and drink some more beer, BS and talk some more. I'm the type of guy that I love doing that and I enjoy it as well. So I would like to do that with my friends and family and allow other people to enjoy that experience. So during the Lousiana-Lafayette game we'll tailgate, drink beer, BS, and talk football and then go experience the football game and then after the game come back tailgate some more, drink beer, BS, and talk more football. I know my family would enjoy this because we are all Husker Fans and whats not to like about it.

So what I'm asking my fellow Husker fans that if you have or know anybody that would like to sell tickets for the Louisana-Layafette game could you please let me know ASAP. I want to find tickets now so its already planned out ready to go and because its also hard to find tickets at times. I picked this game because it'll be the 300th Consecutive Sellout but there are family members that haven't been to a game since the mid 90's and it would be a perfect game for them to go see and to also enjoy my bachelor party. Any help would be much appreciated and thank you all for your time.

I've been married 17 years. I can't understand why so many people are anti-marriage. It's great.

The best bachelor party I ever went to was many years ago when about 20 guys went down to a KC Chiefs preseason game. We went down in two vans, we tailgated, we watched a game, and it was a great time. The best man even got a couple of the cheerleaders to come over to the tailgate and hang out with us for a little while. If you can swing it to do this, I think you'll remember it forever, and you'll have a really good time.

Because you're still married, and I'm sure many on this board have been married and divorced. Stats say 50% of guys will that got married will say it isn't that bad, and the other 50% will not be too enthused about it.

And as for a bachelor party idea, golf and strippers, nothing more and nothing less.

I am not sure he was asking any of our ideas/opinions about what he should do for his bachelor's party....he just wants to have the ability to get tickets. I think it is a great idea. Good luck with getting tickets. I am assuming it is going to be pretty hard/expensive to get tickets to this game since it is the 300th consecutive sellout.

Yeah, Captain Obvious, I get that. =)

I guess what I'm saying is, if it didn't work out for you, why try to ruin this guy's thread? He's not getting married because he's planning on getting divorced, so maybe telling him it's not a good idea to get married is kind of stupid.

It's a thread about marriage and the bachelor party that goes with it. It's not an excuse to air your dirty laundry. Just sayin'.

So what exactly is my dirty laundry?? Do you know me? Am I married, been married, or divorced? I was just stating a fact, and if anyone is air laundry it's you telling him marriage is great. It's different for everyone who gets married.

I agree, telling him to not get married isn't right either, I should have said that before and I never told him to not get married. I guess we all just need to wish him luck and make the best of it, if it works then great, if it doesn't then it's fine too.

I just felt like you were downgrading guys who got divorced making like marriage is easy, that's all. Peace.

And back to topic, I actually may be able to get some tickets, not sure what the price will be, but if I find some I will ask the price and get back to you.

I don't know you and you don't know me, so let's take it down a notch, all right? You and me have no reason to argue about anything.

But check this out... OK, so 50% of people who get married get divorced. 50% of people in this country are below average intelligence, too. Maybe the 50% who are getting divorced are the dumb ones?

I'm just funnin' with you, man. We all know people who get divorced. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. Marriage is damned hard, you're right. Mine isn't peaches and cream all the time either. I'm not cracking on people who get divorced. Half my family has been divorced. I know it's tough out there.

Thank you all for your inputs and believe me there are a lot of people that have told me not get married but they were joking.

I know that tickets could and probably will be hard to find but I do know people including my dad that have season tickets and for the cupcake games they sell their tickets at face value or a little bit more. I've been to Stubhub.com and there are plenty of tickets there but they range from $80 all the way up to $400 which is freakin ridiculous.

I think that I'll probably need to find at least 12 tickets.....lol I know thats a lot of tickets. I'm thinking about sending Tom Osborne an e-mail about my situation and maybe he could help......its a long shot and it won't hurt to try.

Thanks again guys I really appreciate your help.
