Explain how forcing 3 passes that got picked, fumbling a snap and fumbling on a run is playing well?

 

If you take away the 72 yard pass that Paul fumbled, Lee was 19-36 for 176 yds. He made pretty much 1 good throw and that was it.

With the talent and speed we have this shouldn't be happening.

 

Some coaches have to be let go.

Not hard to do when the team they're playing doesn't know how to catch, block, or hang onto the ball let alone score it! LOL this was the most pathetic performance I have ever seen by a Nebraska offense.

Our future opponents are surely learning that all you have to do is give us a long field and we'll screw it up. They only have to be careful in their end of the field and kick it away to us and we'll screw up before we can score. We are UNBELIEVEABLY bad.

 

And it is riciculous to act as though Zac Lee was some huge positive out there. The man is afraid to run the ball. He gets the heebeejeebies anytime there is any pressure. He is never going to be a big time QB.

 

Now we may not win many games with Green, but if he is not afraid to run and not afraid to throw downfield and not afraid to get hit--you might be surprised how far that spark will carry this team.

 

Can someone explain the downside to a different QB??

 

 

You can try, but it won't do any good.

 

Some qb's can give a team a spark, just by making something happen when it's falling apart around them. Lee did not have that bad a day, but he is not the type of qb, that brings that presence with him to a huddle. Cody from what little we have seen, seems to have that spark about him. Sure he will make mistakes, but its not working with Lee and the players around him. Try something new, try any thing that will maybe lite that spark under this team, when their backs are against the wall.

I know there is more problems than just the qb play, but you have to start some where. IMO

It still amazes me that we lost to an Iowa State team that didn't have their two best players playing. It just shows you how bad we are at offense.

 

I salute Paul Rhodes though.

I think future opponents learned that if you pull and bat at the ball, good things can happen.

 

ball control lost the game, not the play calling, the qb play, etc.

Nobody is blaming Lee!!!! You guys keep pulling this argument out and no one is arguing back. The offense has issues and it is the staff! So enough of the "if anybody blames this on Lee..." stuff. Been spouting it all game.

 

I only say green because our offense needs to have a running threat with an injured Helu and a subpar oline. Green can create plays and give us another dimension to our offense. Nothing against Lee personally or even his ability. Our offense is neutered at best and they need more playmakers on the field and my OPINION is that green is a playmaker just from what little I have seen. So until I see Green fall on his face, I'll continue to judge him on the good things that have outweighed the negative.

 

So wait, your saying Lee should sit out, because the offense around him sucks?

 

Thats like saying, don't fix the problem, throw another item in there to get messed up.

OMG how many times does this have to be typed? I want a qb that can balance our offense. We have poor recievers this season so lets not throw the ball so much. We have an oline that plays better in the power I than the shotgun so let's not throw the ball so much. We have two qbs. One that throws the ball and one that runs and throws the ball. Let's not throw the ball so much....so in conclusion Green is better fit to quarterback a RUNNING offense than Lee. Are you not seeing this? I don't care if you agree with it or not but are you seeing that my argument isn't that Lee sucks and Cody rules. It's that our offense needs to play to it's strengths and Cody's running ability plays to those strengths.

I can't believe how stupid and fickle NU fans have gotten! Did this game suck? very much.

1. If you are going to jump ship on the Huskers GTFO! AND DON'T COME BACK! WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE

2. This is year 2 you dumb f*&!s. Last years team wasn't supposed to be as good as it was and there is still alot too work on. we were lucky to have 9 wins last year. Bo will get us there but not in two years.

3. Zac Lee is mobile as well, what good is Cody Green going to do besides a. get hurt or b. get shaken and lose is moxy by being thrown into the fire too soon. As far as im concerned he only really had 1 pic today the recivers had 2.

4. It's not the players that embarass me its fans like all of you who want to jump ship right away.

5. How many times did Bo tote the rock? none so stop blaming him. He'll get on the team about that garbage and get it corrected

6. every time we were in range we should have just kicked a feild goal reguardless of down and we would have won.....what is Alex henry for again?

7. Suh and the Blackshirts are going to win us games and this ship will be righted and we'll make a bowl so just calm down. Floida barely won against arkansas and you don't see their fans giving up on the season. One bad game following a bad loss isn't the end of the season GROW UP AND GET OVER IT

This is not Zach Lee's fault. He's really good, really really good. Don't blame him for this - he only threw a couple pics....and most of his throws are nearly good passes.....

 

Yea, i think Zac Lee did good. He only had one true INT, the other 2 was deflected passes that recievers should have made.

 

 

Anybody who even remotely blames Lee or this loss should be banned from the Internet for life. At the very lease, they can or should never be taken seriously ever again.

 

 

Thank you for your input Mr. ShamWow. Also, I think you meant "at the very least." Additionally, I am not placing most of the fault with Lee. We beat yourselves on offense all the way around. I just wish Lee was the kind of player that could make things happen - that could give us some sort of spark. We didn't make plays or finish drives. That falls on everyone.

 

 

Yes I did mean least. Thanks for catching that. But my comment about bannishment from the Intenet or never should be taken serioulsy again is 100% spot on.
