knapplc
Well, according to our unscientific poll, we can probably conclude without too much dissent that Pederson and Phillips have had the biggest "black eye" effect on the program. Clearly this means we should be wary of people associated with the program whose last name starts with "P." Good thing we don't have any prominent players, coaches or administrators like that now. Enhance
True..We used to "feel" superior to the rest of the College Football landscape because we were "doing things the right way" <cough>..<Steroids>....but we did have a Heisman trophy winner that robbed a gas station with a starter pistol? accd. to legend. skersfan
I still think most are only looking at it as a Nebraska fan. What Pederson did, no question hurt a lot of us, but if you asked the question to 10 fans of other programs, what is the worst thing about the Nebraska program, one name would appear, and only one name. Wins and losses to the other fans is part of the game, we were unique in our win loss record, bowl record. Most teams fans expect to lose on occasion, we very seldom thought it possible. For us as a fan base, what Pud did is worse, but for the darkening the name of Nebraska, LP stands head and shoulders above the rest. JR could have been on that level if his actions had happened in the internet time, but it was glossed over and forgotten very quickly. LP is still the major thing people bring up when attempting to bash Nebraska. To me a black eye is something that stands out, screams of problems, out of control. Wins and losses by any coach or AD are expected. We just have fortunate not to be the norm. 1 Quote Link to comment
jayhawk
Phillips. He was a BAD person, and not good to be associated with because he was not a good hman being. Quote Link to comment
