Husker_Power
Niles Paul ticketed in downtown Lincoln By Jon Nyatawa WORLD-HERALD BUREAU LINCOLN — Nebraska senior wide receiver Niles Paul was ticketed for minor consumption and urinating in public early Friday morning near the city’s downtown bar strip. A Lincoln police bicycle officer found Paul, 20, facing a fence in the 100 block of Centennial Mall at1:23 a.m. Friday. According to police, Paul had watery eyes and smelled of alcohol. An on-site preliminary breath test indicated that his blood-alcohol level was 0.104. Paul was cited and released. About 13 months ago, Paul was arrested under suspicion of driving while intoxicated. NU coach Bo Pelini kicked the veteran receiver out for the remainder of spring practice and didn’t allow Paul to play in the Red-White spring game after that April 12 incident. Paul later plead guilty to reckless driving and paid a $150 fine. Paul was Nebraska’s leading receiver as a junior, hauling in 40 passes for 796 yards and four touchdowns. He was the team’s offensive MVP in the Holiday Bowl and an honorable mention All-Big 12 honoree for his duties as a punt returner in 2009. Heading into his final year with the Huskers, Paul is expected to be the primary receiving target again. Even after spring practice, the team was still searching for reliable, consistent targets to fill slots in the depth chart behind Paul. Quote Link to comment

nillie welson
Who cares? I don't. He wasn't driving (then I would care) so make him run some stairs (lots of them) and move on. Quote Link to comment

Husker_Power
Apparently Bo has dealt with Paul about this incident already. Per LJS: "I have met with Niles Paul about the matter. It has been addressed and handled internally," Nebraska coach Bo Pelini said in a statement. Quote Link to comment
GSG
2nd offense. I wouldn't be surprised if he misses the first game or two. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
And he should IMO, he was warned once about being stupid so this should be a suspension. Quote Link to comment

The article isn't written very clearly, but Bo's statement wasn't about this time around. I'm sure he'll issue a statement in the next 24/48 hours, and it'll probably be something like this again. I would be surprised if Niles doesn't sit out at least one game. You have to send a message. Quote Link to comment
