skersfan
Right where I said we would be. Real problem is TCU. If they beat Utah, we will not pass them. Oklahoma getting by the next 4 on their schedule is not likely from the way they have been playing. Texas is hurting us every game. If they continue to lose it will hurt us more. If Bama beats Auburn, or vice versa there is no way for us to get in the NC game. Highly doubtful Boise/Utah/TCU will all lose. Best chance is for TCU to lose to Utah, but they are still ahead of us, Utah would have a win over the #3 team, our best hope is Oklahoma wins out and stays at 8-9. It is the only game we have left. If they fall to any of the rest on the their schedule we are done instantly. Oregon vs Oregon State is a chance for loss, I think Arizona will fold. If Oregon falls, it would be TCU if they continue on unbeaten is my guess. I truly think Boise is out of the race. I see it as/Oregon/TCU vs Auburn/Alabama. I really do not see us getting there, all four are very strong teams. Bama still has to beat LSU and Auburn, Auburn is home free to the Iron Bowl. South Carolina/Florida is not going to beat either Auburn or Bama this time. Bama and Auburn have played higher ranked teams. Oregon vs Bama is my gut feeling Quote Link to comment
craigsker
Keep in mind folks...Oregon still has to play Arizona and Oregon state. And I don't know if Alabama beating Auburn will help but possibly worth considering. Meanwhile TCU and Boise State continue to wallow at #3 and #4 and the pollsters seem content to leave them there due to weak schedules. It's gonna be interesting to see how it all plays out... JTrain
WOW! #7! We need Auburn to beat Bama and then lose in the SEC championship. We run the table and beat OU we have a shot to leapfrog BSU and TCU. A lot of action to play out. The only problem is, a 12-1 Auburn will definitely still rank ahead of a 12-1 Nebraska, unless the pollsters intentionally dropped them further to avoid another 2001 or 2003. I disagree. Lets say BSU loses to Nevada: goodbye. TCU loses to Utah: goodbye. Auburn beats Bama last game of season: goodbye. We are sitting at #3, possibly #4. I say we will pass undefeated Utah, but not undefeated TCU, so Utah needs to win this weekend. The rankings would look like this for the CCG week. #1 Oregon, #2 Auburn, #3 Nebraska/Utah, #4 Nebraska/Utah, #5 Oklahoma. If we beat Oklahoma and Auburn loses, there is no way they stay at #2. We jump Utah to #2 or just move from 3 to 2. You're thinking strictly with a pollster mentality though. Yes, in the polls we would have a decent shot of jumping to #2 and Auburn dropping to #3, but it won't be by many points (which is what the BCS takes into account). In the computers, Auburn will hold a pretty decisive advantage (Massey ranks their full schedule, not just games played so far, 15th while ours is 44th). Quote Link to comment
HuskerT
We need whoever we play in the big12 championship to be ranked high as possible. So basically we need OU to win out and we'd need to beat them impressively in the championship game to have a chance. Quote Link to comment

BIGREDIOWAN
I agree with the OU winning out factor. We ended up being ranked higher than I thought we would, it's still possible, but highly unlikely that we'll make it to the NC game. Quote Link to comment
