HuskerJosh
Taylor Martinez is at practice today not suited up. He is wearing a boot on his left foot. Thought it was his right ankle he injured though? Link also the tweet right before that is some grim news Everybody's favorite color analyst Ed Cunningham will be doing Friday's Colorado game in Lincoln. #huskers I scooped him on the Cunningham news. Had it two nights ago Quote Link to comment

BIGREDIOWAN
That makes no sense, when he was walking to the locker room after he got hurt his right foot had nothing on it. Weird......... Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Maybe he kicked a water cooler on his way into the locker room. Quote Link to comment
junior4949
I gotta say, when they showed the replay I was a lot more concerned about his knee than I was his ankle. Quote Link to comment
HANC
When the injury happened, I told my wife that I think he may have just broken his fibula. That is exactly how many people break their lower leg. I was sure that he had broken his leg. Can't quite understand the boot on the left leg though....trying to think this one through. This is a stretch, but there are times when we have players who go to specialists with injured ankles/knees, and the therapists tell them not to "baby" it.....USE IT... maybe the boot is on the opposite foot to force him to actually use it, building back strength and confidence....... I know this is a stretch and probably not the case....but I am reaching here. Wait, I don't even buy my own BS.. Quote Link to comment
kansas husker
Didn't see this anywhre. So, Taylor Martinez watched practice Monday wearing a walking boot. On his left foot. Why? “He stubbed his toe, got stepped on,” offensive coordinator Shawn Watson said after Monday’s practice. But Martinez’s sprained right ankle is still his main injury issue, Watson said. “We’re taking it day-to-day. He’s still working with our trainers. We’ll see where we can get him by Friday.” Watson had a positive report on senior quarterback Zac Lee, who hasn’t played since the Missouri game. He’s missed the last three games while recovering from an injury to his throwing hand. “Zac was really good today,” Watson said. “It’s good to have him back in the mix. His repetitions have gone up. He’s throwing the ball pretty good right now. We’ll see how far we can get him.” As for why senior running back Roy Helu didn’t play in the fourth quarter Saturday at Texas A&M? “He got stepped on his calf,” Watson said. “He was out practicing today. He was a little sore. It was one of those injuries, more than anything else, he just got stung, and he just wasn’t full speed, so we didn’t put him back in.” http://my.journalstar.com/post/Husker_Extra_Group/Husker_Extra/blog/martinez_and_other_injury_updates.html Quote Link to comment

Lil' Red
That seems like good news but we probably have the least accurate injury reports in the country so who knows. Quote Link to comment
Fuzzy
Ouch, i've had someone step on my calf during football, the guy weighed 260 lbs, felt like my leg was going to snap in the front. Quote Link to comment
CENTEXHUSKER
Read a Sipple article where Ron Kellogg was taking some snaps with the second team today. Should make for an interesting next 4 days... Quote Link to comment
kansas husker
Read a Sipple article where Ron Kellogg was taking some snaps with the second team today. Should make for an interesting next 4 days... Kellogg embraces work with second string Posted by: Steve Sipple on November 22, 2010 at 7:09PM CST With starting quarterback Taylor Martinez out of action Monday, Nebraska redshirt freshman Ron Kellogg III spent time with the No. 2 offense, he told reporters. Kellogg said he's been sharing reps with the twos along with senior Zac Lee while Cody Green takes snaps with the first string. "Today I took the majority of the reps just because Zac has to worry about his elbow and stuff," said Kellogg, a walk-on from Omaha Westside. Kellogg moved up from the scout team the week of the Nov. 13 Kansas game and since worked mostly with the twos and threes. Now, he said, he's working mostly with the twos. "Of course I was a little shocked when I got the call-up," he said. "But after that, I sat down with coach (Shawn) Watson and got a level head about everything. Basically, you have to study the playbook. If you don't study the playbook, things won't go well in practice. If you get thrown in the game, things won't go well in the game." He said he studies and learns so his teammates will have confidence in him if he's called upon in a game. After working with the scout team, he said, "It's a dream to come up to the big field. Now that I've got that opportunity, I don't want to lose it." http://my.journalstar.com/post/Husker_Extra_Group/Husker_Extra/blog/kellogg_embraces_work_with_second_string.html Quote Link to comment
