DJR313
This is what happens when you have a transformation from where the Huskers were in 2007 to what we have now. I have heard the following in the past week: Marvin Sanders is desired as a candidate at Northern Illinois. Shawn Watson is a candidate at Vanderbilt. Bo Pelini has Miami interested. Carl Pelini is a possible candidate at ULL. John Papuchis is a rumored candidate at Texas for D-line coach. Mike Ekeler is a candidate for D-Coordinator at Indiana. Speaks pretty highly of our coaching staff. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
This from the JournalStar throws a lot of cold water on this rumor for me: Papuchis: Texas talk "out of left field"Posted by: Steve Sipple at 1:57PM CST on December 9, 2010 Texas has its eye on Nebraska assistant coach John Papuchis, a source close to Papuchis said Wednesday. But Papuchis, a defensive line coach and special teams coordinator for NU, said that's news to him. "That is out of left field," Papuchis told the Journal Star. "No one has contacted me for sure, and no one has contacted anyone out of our university as far as I know." Mike Tolleson, UT's defensive tackles coach and special-teams coordinator, announced his retirement on Monday. Papuchis worked with current Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp in 2004, when both were at Louisiana State -- Muschamp as the defensive coordinator for Nick Saban and Papuchis as a defensive intern/graduate assistant. The 32-year-old Papuchis is in his third season on the Nebraska staff. Quote Link to comment
Fuzzy
Good god, is this the way the football forum is gonna go today? Sitting here in southern CA, where it's 75 and sunny... Eating ice cream, and being blown away by the insanity of this board today. Wow... Haha. It is fun, though. ;-) Its like watching a soap opera on CBS. Quote Link to comment

"No one has contacted me for sure, and no one has contacted anyone out of our university as far as I know." Thank goodness. I haven't kept up with the Bo stuff since this morning, but if he could say something like that, it would be outstanding. I would not understand such a move at all, it'd be lateral. I hoped that the only good thing about our 3 losses is that some of this would be diminished. I guess I was wrong Quote Link to comment

PaulCrewe
Why wou JP want to go to Texas? His best asset is as a recruiter. And he wouldn't have anything to do there, except set up their Junior Day and sit at the UT sign up table afterwards. He would be absolutely bored down there. Quote Link to comment
