I'd have Urban Meyer as my OC, and I'd have Gary Patterson as my DC. I'd let them fill in their assistants under them rather than saddling them with the likes of Cotton. I say get the 50 gallon barrels of cholesterol blockers/viagra and bring in Uncle Milt as OLine coach & TO as OC. Also, throw in 100 cases of whatever beer Uncle Milt prefers. A very cold & big fridge in his office.......whatever it takes. For TO, anything he wants. Period. Leave the defensive staff & HC exactly as it is. Marvin & Bo are the best at what they do. On my team it is all he would do, well that and maybe public relations because we will be doing well in aspects of all areas but it would be too technical for any of you to understand you effing hillbillys Quote Link to comment

It's just that, a fallacy, and it's becoming tiresome. You don't have to be an auto mechanic to know your car isn't working properly. You don't even have to know exactly what went wrong or what specific part needs replacing. You just have to know that the final product (how well the car drives) isn't cutting it. After that, you leave it to the experts to fix. Watson's final product, no matter how smart he may be, isn't cutting it. In ten seasons as an OC, Watson's offenses have finished in the top half of the conference three times, and in the top third only once. (We can argue till the cows come home about seasons in which he may or may not have had playcalling responsibilities, but the OC is ultimately responsible for the offensive production either way.) If Nebraska football is to get where most of us want it to be (BCS bowl games, top ten finishes, national title contention, etc.), we need considerably better offensive production. As fans, we can come to this conclusion in a completely rational way without knowing who the replacement might be or being able to create a better gameplan than Wats. How many of us knew about Bo Pelini, a linebackers coach for the Green Bay Packers, when Bohl was let go in 2002? Probably few to none. And how many of us would personally make better DCs than Bohl (then or now)? Few to none. That doesn't mean we were wrong or irrational in clearly observing that we needed better.
