LaVista Husker
Any truth to a rumor that Brenden Stai is coming on board as OL coach? Quote Link to comment

knapplc
Mike Caputo confirmed it in the presser yesterday. That makes three coaches of varying titles on the O Line this year: Barney Cotton - Associate Head Coach/Offensive Line John Garrison - Assistant Offensive Line/Tight Ends Brenden Stai - Grad Assistant Quote Link to comment
bshirt
Bloody terrific! Stai is a sharp, real-deal road grader that is just what the doctor ordered. I really hope it works out well for him and someday soon becomes a full staff member. 1 Quote Link to comment

BigWillie
Three guys to coach the line? Wonder if Barney gets the hint? 1 Quote Link to comment
carlfense
Three guys to coach the line? Wonder if Barney gets the hint? That was my thought as well. Maybe Cotton will "manage" the other OL coaches and let them handle the actual coaching. Quote Link to comment
HuskerT
Think he's a great addition to the staff. He has ties to CA and AZ. Could help west coast recruiting. Quote Link to comment

Assistants and Interns are limited in their roles. Not off campus, but I don't think there is any rules against him putting in calls to his ties - or getting Carl in the door. Not really sure how that works but someone like Jamrog isn't able to "recruit" but that basically just means he can't make visits or interact with recruits off campus. Otherwise, it's fair game though. Quote Link to comment

He played in the the top high school division in Southern California which is USC's bread and butter, his presence certainly can't hurt. Quote Link to comment
n.e.husker
All hands on deck on the Oline, First, I was really happy with the addition of Garrison to TE coach and to help on the Oline, now we have Stai coming in as GA to help out. Our Oline should show great development this year, especially with all the young talent coming in this year. It all starts in the trenches and Bo has really made it a focus this year. MCAT800
Stai, exactly the type of mentality we need going in to the Big 10. That is exciting news. Quote Link to comment
