VectorVictor
How about the "Johnny Bowl", as in Johnny Carson? Don't both Norfolk, NE and Corning, IA lay claim to his greatness? If anything, we may get a humorous skit out of Dana Carvey (though no Phil Hartman, for obvious reasons) for halftime. Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
Huskers v Meth dealers Now, now, let's not get ugly here. We can just call that the Battle of Lexington vs. Council Bluffs(tucky) instead. Though, for halftime, we could have them set up rival meth labs and have a cookoff at the 50 yard line for the best product. Koch Industries could even sponsor the necessary ammonia, and AMC could advertise the new season of Breaking Bad. Look--a nifty title, two likely sponsors, and plenty of corporate tie-in possibilities. What's not to love? Quote Link to comment

jayhawk
I actually think the Farmageddon nickname is going to catch and become a very, very widespread term used by fans and commentators/writers/etc. unofficially. It seems like it's been sticking so far. Iowa is not really an Ag school, and this name is what K-State / Iowa State use... Quote Link to comment
AK-47
The Battle for Carter Lake.... Boom. +1 so, losing state has to take claim carter lake for one year? So much hate for the absolute best town in the world with a mayor that wears overalls all day everyday. Quote Link to comment
Nebula
Farmageddon is trash. If they end up calling this game that I'm going to go out of my way to disparage the name, every single chance I get. Also....IT'S TAKEN. Sorry...I just really, really, really hate that name. Quote Link to comment
Chuck_G_23
Hmm...since farmaggedon seems to be popular maybe we could do something similiar, cornocalypse? Quote Link to comment
CornHOLIO
Oh hell yeah You should have heard the ^&*ing about the Insight when we were convinced it was going to be Nebraska we played only to end up with Missouri. Iowa fans have wanted a shot at Nebraska since about 2002 since the last time we played was during the transition period between Fry and Ferentz when we forgot how to play for a couple of years. Couple of years? Iowa has only beaten Nebraska once in my lifetime, by three points in 1981. Other than that Nebraska has pretty much dominated in the modern era (however you want to define that). Overall we're 26-12-2 against Iowa, with a +253 point margin. In the last 50 years we've beaten you guys 5-1 with an average margin of victory of 26 points. Even before reading this post. I was thinkin' "NU vs. ISU-THE SEQUEL" Quote Link to comment
TopekaHUSKER15
Farmaggedon was mainly started by the students i think. Im 23 and all my friends here in Kansas know of Farmageddon but most of the parents do not. I like The Corn-Belt Classic or the Husk(er)-Hawk(eye) trophy Quote Link to comment
REDSTEEL
One sided rival. How about third to last game left. Quote Link to comment
The Dude
I like The Corn-Belt Classic... The trophy could be a pro wrestling championship belt, made of corn. I like it. Quote Link to comment
Jskers95
It doesn't need a name. 1 Quote Link to comment
