4. RB Mike Rozier, Nebraska

The buzz: He spent a year at Coffeyville (Kan.) JC to get his grades in order, then signed with Nebraska in 1981. He first backed up Roger Craig, then eventually won the starting job. As a junior, Rozier set a then-school record with 1,689 rushing yards in leading the Huskers to a 12-1 record. The next season, he rushed for 2,148 yards and set an NCAA record with a 7.8-yard average per carry en route to winning the Heisman. The Huskers were unbeaten and ranked No. 1, but lost to Miami 31-30 in the Orange Bowl. Rozier rushed for 147 yards in that game, but was lost to an ankle injury in the third quarter.

Glad to see Rozier on this list. People outside of Nebraska forget how great he was in college. One of the best ever.

Also, I had no idea that Roger Stabauch was a juco transfer. Learn something every day.

Wasn't Farley a Juco x-fer? If that kid could have kept his head on straight, he could have been a force in the nfl. He was so much LT like!! Too bad his vices caught up to him before LT's did.

Except that he only weighed 205 lbs and would have played safety, where as LT played at what 240-250?

But he was a great player.

Back to the OP, I think that Rozier should have been above OJ, Heupel may have been listed too low, too.

Well, that goes with the keep his head on straight. He wasn't too worried about eating right and lifting. With his frame he could have easily looked LT-esqe.

His waste of talent just bugs the hell out of me. He used to hang out at a house over by Nebraska Wesleyan alot. The house was a drop shade house.

Farley was. He turned out to be one of the greatest JUCO transfers and players Nebraska ever had.

Ha ha! Sadly, Terrell Farley's career got killed in much the same manner. Tragic.

What's a "drop shade house"?

Google just points me to motorized awnings.

I agree. He was, is and always will be one of my favorite Huskers. He absolutely owned Florida in the '96 Fiesta Bowl. Danny Wurfell still has TF Killed Me tatooed on his forehead.

Pretty sure he means the people who lived in the house didn't want the outside world to see what was going on inside so they dropped the shades. Just a guess.
