NUance
18. CARL PELINI, NEBRASKA DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR The buzz: Some schools have sniffed around Huskers coach Bo Pelini's older brother, who continues to build a strong resume. Pelini, 45, is a tough-minded coach whose passion and energy are infectious. LINK I think Carl would be a great HC. He's generally a bit more composed than younger brother. Although the fans at aTm might not agree with that. Quote Link to comment

knapplc
But, I don't see Carl "breaking up the band", for some unknown reason I don't either, not for a while at least. Maybe if/when the Bros. Pelini win something here, then he'll strike out on his own, but for a while he's going to have to overcome that perception that Bo is still the main reason the defense is so good. Yeah, and as much as I hate to say it, that might be about a year or so from getting to that level Quote Link to comment
Spartness
Also, he probably won't jump at any job available ... such as a crappy program where he is likely doomed to fail. So I see him picking and choosing any future offers. But that would be the case with any up-and-coming assistant. Quote Link to comment
GMoose
He smart enough to wait, taking a page from Malzahn's handbook. He knows with him and Bo at the helm we'll always have a top-flight defense, if we get to elite status there'll be a bigger job out there for him. Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
I personally thought that Carl would have been a great fit in Minnesota. Quote Link to comment
bbeerma2
West Virginia is a name I'd throw out there that would poke around. Quote Link to comment
Lil' Red
West Virginia is a name I'd throw out there that would poke around. Isn't Dana Holgorsen their head coach in waiting? Quote Link to comment
NUance
Besides, Carl will have the inside track as HC for Nebraska when Bo bails out for tOSU. (only partly sarcastic) Quote Link to comment

He has 6 alcohol related incidents which may be cause to release him without cost. Then they will need someone new at the end of Stewart's contract. Quote Link to comment

BIG ERN
There will come a time where Carl leaves I think, but not for a few years. Quote Link to comment

Legit question, was Carl with Bo at LSU? Quote Link to comment
