Hercules
When they announced schedules for the new Big Ten Conference and said that Iowa would be our season-ending game, I was excited for the beginning of a new rivalry. Too bad they killed it before it was ever born. I present to you the trophy for the "Heroes Game" (I threw up just typing that), the Corn Bowl!!! (just threw up again). http://journalstar.com/news/local/article_be3c0011-c19d-50d6-98f2-12b64af11da0.html 1 Quote Link to comment
NoLongerN
3,300 people voted. :-) Quote Link to comment
K-Town Husker
I don't like it but I also did not vote so I can't complain too much. Maybe there will be an instant replay called and the decision will be reversed. Quote Link to comment
simplekin
At least it wasn't the corn cob shaped dildo. 1 Quote Link to comment
nowhereman
This isn't the Heroes Game trophy, it's the Innocents Society - PLS trophy. It's exchanged between the two organizations. It's akin to the Missouri Bell, which was never an "official" trophy. The official Heroes trophy has yet to be revealed. Quote Link to comment
shyndy
I road through Iowa on RAGBRAI last year, and they definitely beat us in terms of corn Quote Link to comment
huskerauggie
I mean.... COME ON! Seriously? This is what we came up with? Nebraska v. Iowa will play in "Farmageddon" *cringe* each year, to see who will have the honor of taking home... A bowl of corn... A bowl of corn.... Quite possibly theeeeeeee worst Rivalry game trophy out there. This is the kind of thing that happens when you attempt to FORCE a rivalry.. I mean, how about just don't have a trophy at this point. I see that as a better option than fighting over a BOWL OF CORN I suppose it IS better than the Corn Weiner design... 1 Quote Link to comment
huskered17
I guess if they were planning on throwing corncobs into the crowd after the game, it is safer than throwing pitchforks, . . GBR!!! Quote Link to comment
Excel
aaahh see this is the kind of thing I hate about what's happened to the Conference under Delany. Now this thing isn't official and isn't directly his fault but its this kind of bullsh#t that drives me nuts. The stupid logo, the division names that have made us the laughing stock of the nation and now another dumb trophy. Trophies and traditions should be allowed to arise naturally, they shouldn't be manufactured by some group purely for the purpose of that item becoming a rivalry trophy...PSU/MSU's land grant trophy is the worst example of this.... These are trophies These are not trophies Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt96
I wanted this as the Trophy Loser claims Council Bluffs, Carter Lake & Sioux City for the year. 1 Quote Link to comment
Tulsa-Husker
I wanted this as the Trophy Loser claims Council Bluffs, Carter Lake & Sioux City for the year. I can live wt that idea. Corn Bowl - couldn't they come up wt something more original and not so sterotypical? Quote Link to comment

gratefullred
I guess if we want to be in the B1G, we need to take part in the traditions even if, as an outsider, they seem somewhat silly. Iowa wants to circle this date on their calendar, and that's OK. Glad the game is on friday, happy to put up with everything else to keep it that way. Quote Link to comment
ShawnWatson
My favorite part about this process is the "renderings" that came out, some pretty solid pencil shading going on there. Quote Link to comment
