kchusker_chris
...courtesy of the NCAA. Now we don't have to worry about that 100ish ranking on kick return coverage because Maher should be able to get it to the endzone...and that's all it will take moving the touchback to the 25 yard line. http://www.presnapread.com/n-c-a-a-committee-tackles-kickoffs-again/ Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
So you kick it through the endzone and the receiving team gets it at the 25? That seems rather contradictory. Quote Link to comment
HuskerShark
That's interesting that they are making these changes... I guess I'm not opposed to it, but I don't see why they don't leave the game how it always has been... 2 Quote Link to comment
kchusker_chris
I'm w/ both of you. Really surprised to see the touchback being moved. But ultimately I think it helps us. We don't really have that "electric" kick returner, so if we take it on the 25 so be it. Quote Link to comment
HuskerBCS
No way this gets approved. Moving the ball out to the 25 on touchbacks? Might as well start awarding 9 points for a touchdown. Quote Link to comment

It'sNotAFakeID
I see it being amended so that the touchback still remains at the 20 yard line. Moving the ball up on kickoffs and then awarding a team more yards for a touchback is kind of ridiculous. Quote Link to comment
huskerjch
I think it should be the other way around. If you kick the ball out of the end zone or they elect to down it the kicking team should be rewarded by the ball being placed on the fifteen. This way it rewards teams with a strong legged kicker. But I hope this gets voted down its fine the way it is Quote Link to comment
MMAHusker
It seems to me that there are some very good playmakers standing on the sidelines when we are on kickoff returns and punt returns. Are our coaches so scared of fumbling the ball that they just want someone to catch it and thats good enough? Special teams can light up a crowd. They can change field position. Why don't we use it to the fullest? Quote Link to comment
IvabigN
in 10 years or less, they'll want to add "flags" on the belts you know for the players "safety" because tackling causes injuries Quote Link to comment

Blaze1up
This is a dumb ruling like the NFL why would you ever take the excitement of the return game out. Quote Link to comment
