Got to respect what Purdue is doing, though--it seems they and DoNU are the only schools that give a **** about baseball in this conference, which is sad.

That is rather slanderous.. Have you actually researched what the other schools are doing?

Penn State recently built a complex that rivals (is probably better) then Hawks

OSU just put 5 million into their stadium.

Michigan recently spent 11 million to upgrade their facility

Minnesota continues to pay the fee's for Metro Dome use

Iowa recently upgraded Banks Field

Truth is, the BIG administrator's are to blame not the universities. Until the BIG leadership places an emphasis on baseball and gets over the political agenda (ie.. summer baseball) this conference won't move forward.

yep... I was going to add that but matthew mentioned Purdue and Nebraska were the only programs that cared. Have to admit, that ball park is every bit the park that Hawks is. Hopefully the other programs (umm.... Northwestern maybe?) will also make improvements. Currently, Nebraska, Minnesota (in the MD) Michigan and Penn State have up to date facilities. tOSU park is workable as is Iowa's and Michigan State's but the latter two could stand to make improvements.

My opinion only here but... if athletic departments put bleacher seating in rather then chair back seats. The stadium is "out" dated and behind the times. Michigan State and Iowa don't have the flashy new stadiums that Hawks is but they at least had the sense to use chair backs in the upgrades. :)

I still give Haymarket the advantage because it is a true stadium no risers involved like that Purdue one or the Penn St one. Kids probably don't care as much about that as I do though.

Also I can't believe every new college stadium doesn't involve berms like Nebraska. It makes it so much better.

Can the skers go 15-3 down the stretch to get to the magical 40 mark?

15 - 3 is an achievable goal.

12 - 6, with the friday night woes as well as the opposing lead off woes is probably more realistic.

Still, series wins over Purdue and Minnesota at home with Indiana on the road would bode well for the program. In honesty and IMO, if the skers get series wins the rest of the way we should be an at large team and if we can reach the championship game of the conference tourney then we are definitely in the post season. Also, if we do sweep Purdue and go 15 - 3 and reach the conference championship, one would have to think we'd have a good shot at hosting a regional. After all, the ncaa is all about ticket sales and revenue. :)
