teachercd
It is going to be an exciting down on Saturday, I bet PSU goes for it on 4th down over 5 times, especially if they are over midfield. Quote Link to comment
HuskerNationNick
If they do, better for us. People tend to forget, they don't have a kicker O'Brien can rely on. This works in our favor for stopping points, and getting great field advantage. Quote Link to comment

We want them to try kicking it. Quote Link to comment
teachercd
I think they have gone for it 30 times on 4th down this year, I could be wrong but I thought that was the number. Quote Link to comment
FrankWheeler
30 attempts - 16 conversions, only 53% conversion rate. I'm not too worried about this. Quote Link to comment
HuskerNationNick
16/30, for 53.3%, most of them have been against VERY weak defenses. I like our odds, let them try. Damn you worldsworstoutdoorsman lol They are also a heavily penalized team, 107 this year, less than us, but still. Our odds against them this weekend is great. NU with a big win. +10 1 Quote Link to comment
FrankWheeler
Only converted 3/10 in their last 3 games - 9/20 in B1G play and that includes a 5/6 against Northwestern. Besides that one game they haven't been very good at converting 4th downs. Quote Link to comment
HuskerNationNick
They have tried to convert on their side of the field many times this year too, so I am all open for the field advantage. Playing at home, our defense should have no problem stopping most of them, hopefully every attempt. I am making this assumption, because we play better at home. Quote Link to comment
RedRedJarvisRedwine
Keep them on their side of the 50 and this will take care of itself! If they believe the game is gonna be close then they can't risk giving us the field position edge all day. Puts too much stress on their D to defend 20 yards cause our field goal kicker "can" light it up. I'm not too worried about this. 4th down attempts are usually predicable situations. Now if they had a history of gadget plays on 4th down then I would be concerned. Also the score as well as the wind will play a huge roll in their decision making. Quote Link to comment
teachercd
Personally I think that not letting them convert 4th downs AND scoring first are the keys to this game. Quote Link to comment

No, the key to the game is scoring more points than them.................more often than not, if you do that, you'll win the game. 1 Quote Link to comment
