kchusker_chris
If my math is right, we're at 78 for next season as it stands. I'm guessing we get more than two additional commitments in the next month. It's a shame it didn't work out for this kid, but I'm guessing he wants a shot at playing QB at a lower level rather than fighting for a safety spot here. Best wishes to him. And i'm guessing we'll see more than 2-3 leave before fall season. I'd say w/ the class at 25 (19 now) we go into the season with 80-81 scholarships....just like this last season. Not quite USC-like...but about equal to 50% of their penalties. Self-imposed surprisingly. 1 Quote Link to comment

We might as well just cancel the season and spoil the national championship run you sunshine pumpers consider all but certain? definately not. prevent Bo from racking up another 9 win season in spectacular fashion? No way!!! - then what would you use to defend him and going into 2014? Hey, at least the defensive genius wouldn't give up any rushing yards. #1 defensive ranking across the board. Count 'Bility
Bo has more 10 win seasons than 9 win seasons. 2013 will be another. Quote Link to comment
kchusker_chris
I don't doubt that one bit. I'm quite confident most of us could win 10 with that schedule and this team. Quote Link to comment

Show me where I have pumped sunshine? But my god, we lose a 5th string QB and you think the world is crashing down. Step away from the ledge, it will be okay. Quote Link to comment

It's not necessarily about losing a 5th stringer as much as it is about how Pelini manages scholarships. We've seemingly been self imposing scholarship reductions. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
And he is aware of it. Some unpredictable things have happened that have made the situation more difficult. The staff intends to sign a full class. Seems that many of you are content with throwing schollies at whoever will take one just to ensure that we have a full roster. We're talking like 5 players here. Quote Link to comment
Micheal
I wouldn't fault a coach for giving out scholarships and then players make the personal decisions to leave. Stuff happens. Can't control those moments. Quote Link to comment
Stumpy1
What is funny is that people complain when Pelini and staff offer a guy a scholarship that they don't think deserves one and are now complaining that we aren't filling our 85 limit. Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
Anything over 70 really isnt an issue. I mean c'mon. With a roster limit of 70 of PS2, I can be 3-deep at every postion except K, P, and FB(2deep). RB being 4 deep. 85, 78, 83, 81. It's all meh. Quote Link to comment
whateveritis1224
Also look at how many walk ons we have. We have over 120 players on the team, having 5 scholarships open isn't the end of the world. Especially since we have some walk ons deserving of a scholarship (Janovich for example). 1 Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt96
So Marsh was NOT a walk-on? Who's was the D-2 Recruit that walked-on? *EDIt* Ryker Fife (sp?) from GI. Just came to me. Also Tyson Broekemeier walked on & had offers to ND & SD. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt96
Wish him luck & not to suprised. He would probably be behind Martinez, Armstrong, Kellogg & would have Stanton coming in & Broekemeier to deal with for the 5th spot. Glad he at least got a few snaps this year to give him the right to say he play for NU as he stated during his recruitment it is his dream to play for the Huskers. Quote Link to comment
RedRedJarvisRedwine
I see Ryker Fyfe making a similar move soon. Maybe Ohio, who knows! I wonder if he could play tight end? Quote Link to comment
