StPaulHusker
This has got to be the most boring schedule we have had in some time. Quote Link to comment

ADS
I see no reason why we can't make it to the Big Ten Championship game again in 2014, even with a first year QB. Quote Link to comment
AllNRed
Rutgers gets a nice welcome... haha - no crap. that is brutal....worse than our first year even. The month of October will be very brutal for them. And they won't get a break til the 15 of November. Quote Link to comment
AllNRed
Oh, Pelini vs Pelini to start off the season.....haha. Quote Link to comment
huskers9495
Does nobody else see this as a terrible schedule, not excited about Nebraska football looking at that. Just horrible for fans and rankings alike. If we are ranked going into the season, not going to hold water, strength of schedule horrific. Yeah, im calling it a year in advance, no one would take us serious if we did run the table. Thought a move to the Big Ten was going to boost our brand. Does it setup perfectly for an undefeated year, hell it ought to, we dont play anybody. Dissappointed all the way around, Northwestern may be the best team on that schedule when it rolls around. WOW, we are now reduced to getting excited about Nebraska/Northwestern football. Quote Link to comment

I don't see it is a terrible schedule at all. We went through damn gauntlet the last two years. Trial by fire in the Big Ten. We didn't get OSU, Michigan, or PSU. Personally, I think PSU won't be much good in 2014 and 2015. We played OSU, Michgan four times in our first two years in the conference (should have been five). It is going to happen, some tougher years and some easier years. We play one tougher team (MSU) and one easier team (Rutgers) from the East. That is as much as you could guess. It is a cycle, that's what happens when conferences get this big. In the last two years we faced tOSU, Michigan, MSU, and PSU twice. Wisconsin thrice. Can't win with some people. WOW, we are now reduced to getting excited about Nebraska/Northwestern football. I wouldn't say we don't play "anybody". No one here knows what our defense will look like, whether our offense will still be turnover happy, or if we will even have a competent special teams. Most of those teams could very well put us in a bad spot, especially our 4 away games. I am not saying they are better than us, but we are our own worst enemy. Also, no one knows what Wisconsin will look like. I wouldn't count them out, and Michigan St always has a good defense. I don't think they will be that good next year, but you honestly never know. If we struggled against Iowa last year, we could very well struggle this year as well, if they have a better offense. Too many holes with our team to say that we will easily run the table. Should we? Yes, but we should have also won most of our games easily last year without these 2nd half comebacks. Quote Link to comment
Creed
Funny, read a Maryland article on the release of the sked. The writer stated UMd drew the 2 toughest teams from the West - Wisc and Iowa. Do they not follow college football on the east coast? Iowa has been terrible for a few years. Quote Link to comment

StPaulHusker
Well I guess now we see what Delany meant about wanting the "Traditional Powers" to meet as often as possible. Nebraska was left out of that equation moving forward. Quote Link to comment
QMany
In 2013, Alabama doesn't face South Carolina, Georgia, or Florida. They have LSU at home and A&M away. Those two teams have combined for ONE conference tournament appearance in the last two years. In 2014, Nebraska doesn't face tOSU, Michigan, or PSU. They have to go to Wisconsin and Michigan State. Those two teams have combined for THREE conference tournament appearances in the last two years. Just a little perspective. It happens folks. Quote Link to comment

I wonder if the SEC intentionally gives their better teams an easier sked. The last couple years and this year Alabama has faced Tennessee (crossover) and Vandy, Missouri and Kentucky as the wild card rotating team. This year Bama plays two ranked teams (LSU and A&M) and has bye weeks before each of them. Like last year, they can lose one of the ranked games and still back into the BCS title b/c they have the SEC Meat Grinder schedule that the media plays up. Quote Link to comment
