Polarhusker
I'm just curious. After the way frost was treated by fans, why would he come here? I remember it well. It kinda got to him. I was shocked because he was home grown. Actually this is funny. after the ASU game everyone and their brother was calling for his dismissal but now we want him for the HC? don't get it. Might have to do with that being 17 years ago and a completely different position. Just a hunch. But yet people keep saying he's a Nebraska kid(player) but yet forget over half the fan base wanted him gone that first year. And they also forget that he chose Stanford over NU didn't help. It wasn't till the following year that people stopped getting but hurt about him. but hay he'll bring NU back to the 90's. Quote Link to comment

admo
As long as it is as an OC I don't have a problem with it. For the love of god we do not need anymore newbie head coaches here. I honestly don't care about that as long as he brings in a decent coaching staff. and if you don't approve of his coaching staff, you'll just continue to? You will ask a question as an answer. Nice response. Funny Polar. Quote Link to comment
admo
Bo will be gone by the end of the season if h does not win the big ten or go the game nebraska needs to attack kirby smart hard scott would be good but nebraska needs a new defensive coordinator. It kinda got to him. I was shocked because he was home grown. I asked Scott about that. He didn't answer. He's either blown it off or didn't want to tell me. Was this in person? Meaning, he was literally silent after you asked? Cuz that's awkward. Yep, in person. He wasn't silent. He spoke about something else. Quote Link to comment
NoLongerN
Are you guys nuts? Scott is a great guy and folks in Eugene like him a lot, but he is not ready for a Head Coach position. Why would you set up someone again to fail? I live in Portland, OR and this am on the way out the door my neighbor catches me and says, "so whats' with that Pelini guy?" ............ then he backs off and says, "hey, I'm really sorry man!" I guess I must have given him a look like this is really starting to get personal........I guess people around the country are now kind of laughing at the Huskers because of Pelini's behavior both on and off the field. I am curious to hear about what behavior on or off the field in the past few years? Help me recollect? Quote Link to comment

np_husker
Kliff Kingsbury at Texas Tech seems to be doing a good job. I'm not sure, but I do not believe he had HC experience. Sometimes experience is overrated. And with Frost I do believe he would be here to stay. I am glad things worked out the way they did for Bo this week, but I do not believe Bo likes it here and he will leave before long. Quote Link to comment

I was shocked because he was home grown. What coach in their right mind would come here? My lord, the approval rating of a coach is less than a president searching for mythical WMD's unless you win 88-0 every game and win the MNC and move on to challenge the Super Bowl Champion and win that too. Oh yeah.... $$$ > sanity We don't have high expectations. Most of Bo's faults are simply football 101 and for someone who grew up in the profession he should know better. For real. I don't mind the number of wins, it's the quality of the losses that is just horrendous. I see a lot of people talking about the program moving in a "good" or "right" direction, but I don't see multiple blow outs to moderately ranked or even unranked teams as a a good direction to be going (or a good status quo). They aren't flukes, they're regular, predictable occurrences. Osborne's losses are frequently invoked as an equivalent comparison-- but look at whom he lost to, their rankings, and how he lost. Losing a close, hard-fought game to a top 10 team is heart breaking, sure, but at least there's hope in a close game. There was no hope against UCLA. There was no hope against Wisconsin. You can't look at a huge loss like that and say, "Wow, if only..." because there isn't an "only," there's an "every." "Wow, if everything had been different, we could have won that game." Count 'Bility
Kliff Kingsbury at Texas Tech seems to be doing a good job. I'm not sure, but I do not believe he had HC experience. It's been 3 games. That example is kinda irrelevant to this discussion I would think. Bo won his first 3 games too. Quote Link to comment
Scratchtown
when the op says 'oregon already worried', who, precisely, is he/she referring to as 'oregon'? just some blogger? I visit ducks boards all the time, and I asked one of the boards what they thought of Frost etc, and if he ever left. The general consensus is that they love him, but if he left they wouldn't freak out because the system always stays the same there in Eugene. They just bring in another guy while promoting a guy already there. Its the "oregon way" as it has been referred to lately. edit: continuity of coaching staff is a big deal. Quote Link to comment
