The Bulldogs have been off since Tuesday night, when they lost at Michigan, 93-59. It marked the third game in a five-game stretch, covering three states for SCSU. The Bulldogs opened the season with an 85-69 loss to Marshall on Nov. 8 before rebounding with a 59-55 double OT win over St. Andrews on Nov. 10. In the loss to Michigan, the Wolverines shot 50.8 percent from the floor, including 15-of-28 from 3-point range. South Carolina State is coached by Murray Garvin, who took over as the interim coach last season and led SCSU to a 2-7 record before being named head coach in the offseason. Prior to joining the Bulldogs staff, Garvin worked at Winston-Salem State, Charleston Southern and Clinton Junior College. The Bulldogs returned four starters and seven of eight letterwinners from a team that went 6-24 in 2012-13. Matthew Hezekiah is their top returnee, as the 6-foot-11, 225-pounder averaged team highs in both scoring (12.9 ppg) and rebounding (7.4 rpg) a year ago. This season, he is averaging team highs in both scoring (15.7 ppg) and rebounding (4.7 rpg). Sophomore Jordan Smith joins Hezekiah in double figures at 10.0 ppg, and has hit 8-of-19 from 3-point range. Smith had a game-high 19 points, including five 3-pointers, in the loss at Michigan. The duo of Darryl Palmer (5.0 ppg and 4.0 rpg) and Adama Adams (9.0 ppg) gives Garvin a solid returning group to work around with. Adams also has international experience, as he was chosen for the Senegal National Team earlier this year. 2 Quote Link to comment
Blackshirts007
I'm excited for this game tomorrow. Should be a comfortable win. I wanted to stay home and watch the Lions play the Steelers (Go Lions) but i figured i might as well get my moneys worth since i bought student tickets. Also i love every chance i can get to go into that arena. Quote Link to comment
It'sNotAFakeID
Will probably fumble the ball too much and it will cost us the game. EDIT--Wrong thread. Sorry. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Off to a nice 21-10 lead. Bench players outscoring the starters 13-8 so far. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
39-31 Huskers at the half. Bench still outscoring the starters (25-14) and shooting better as well (47% to 33%). Quote Link to comment

Helps to have guys like Gallegos and Biggs coming off the bench! We actually have a crazy deep backcourt, should help a lot with the tightened foul rules. Quote Link to comment

Comish
You know you have some serious depth when you can substitute Webster and Biggs interchangeably without any drop off. Looks like we can go 9 or 10 deep easily. Good situation to have with the new foul rules. 1 Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
Nice to see Gallegos/Biggs back... guys were 1st and 2nd in scoring. I would love to see them put Biggs/Webster/Gallegos out there at the same time to just have fun and put some skill out there. Quote Link to comment

redout22
Student crowd was pathetic but myself dressed as Mike wazowski tried to get people pumped up I mean it is a Sunday and it is South Carolina State. Students were probably still too hung-over and in bed to go to the game because of what happened yesterday. Quote Link to comment
redout22
I didn't't see the game, was traveling but did see highlights. All in all I wouldn't put too much stock into it. We beat an inferior opponent like we were supposed to. 3-0 Quote Link to comment
