SEC Rankings Junk - Check Out This B.S.

Recommended Posts

I know this probably doesn't need it's own thread but I was unsure where to put it, and wanted people to see it. Check this out:

Final Top 25:

1 Florida State (60) 14-0

2 Auburn 12-2

3 Michigan State 13-1

4 South Carolina 11-2

5 Missouri 12-2

6 Oklahoma 11-2

7 Alabama 11-2

8 Clemson 11-2

9 Oregon 11-2

10 UCF 12-1

11 Stanford 11-3

12 Ohio State 12-2

13 Baylor 11-2

14 LSU 10-3

15 Louisville 12-1

16 UCLA 10-3

17 Oklahoma State 10-3

18 Texas A&M 9-4

19 USC 10-4

20 Notre Dame 9-4

21 Arizona State 10-4

22 Wisconsin 9-4

23 Duke 10-4

24 Vanderbilt 9-4

25 Washington 9-4

#4 South Carolina was #9, beat #19 Wisconsin, and jumped 5 spots. However, #11 Oklahoma beat #3 Alabama by a larger margin and also only jumped 5 spots to #6.

#8 Missouri beats #13 Oklahoma State and jumps three spots to #5, ahead of Clemson who beats #7 Ohio State, and Oregon who dominated their bowl game and only jumped one spot.

Alabama loses their BCS game, drops 4 spots. Baylor loses their BCS game, 7 spots. Ohio State drops their BCS game, drops 5 spots. Stanford drops 6 spots. All against higher ranked teams than Alabama's game against Oklahoma.

Vanderbilt beats an unranked Houston team and jumps to #24. We beat ranked Georgia and miss the Top 25.

Duke actually jumped a spot losing to Texas A&M.

With the 4-team playoff, all we can hope for is that there are at least 3 undefeated teams from the B1G, Big 12, ACC, and Pac12 so that the SEC can only get 1 spot in the playoffs. eSECpn is going to keep the SEC ranked as high as possible to try to keep them in the hunt no matter what.

All good points. +1 And we'll continue to see this for as long as espn has a financial stake in the SEC's success.
