Jackson has always been known to be a great athlete and a big hitter. From several reports in the spring, he spent a lot of time in the film room and playbook and was really getting a grasp on the defense. If he's also looking pretty good in coverage - watch out.

Not to read too much into things but when 247 was talking to Daniel Davie about practice, he listed himself, Jonathan Rose and Boaz Joseph as competing for reps at the CB spot opposite Mitchell. Cockrell was at Safety for the first practice but perhaps that is more than a one day deal.

I'd be worried if we didn't always find a way to plug in an NFL calibre body there. This is the one group I'm not too worried about.

That are our safeties look pretty good, so we should have solid play behind the corners which always helps.

Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini didn’t comment on Jackson’s status, though Jackson was on the sidelines on coaching up Byerson Cockrell and Joshua Kalu on the sidelines, and seemed to be in good spirits.
