Well, didn't see this comment coming.

So, he goes to a Clinton fundraiser with his wife. He then declares he is running for President then he comes outing says "Carson is the most brilliant guy".

Interesting.

I've never heard even one Kanye "song", probably never will either. I prefer music, haha...

Well, when I read that I had to chuckle while thinking....."Dude, you would think my cat is a....brilliant guy".

I would say Carson is brilliant when it comes to neurosurgery. Politics? Not so much. I just hope he doesn't ruin his life's legacy--his good name--by getting totally beat up in a political campaign.

As to Kanye, I'm a little surprised he isn't leaning to the left, but I guess when you are a millionaire you don't lean to the left. But like I said, I've never been in the Kanye loop.

I'm pretty sure Carson will be just fine and I'm also sure he is appreciative of your concerns.

LOL.....yeah....all millionaires in Hollywood are so right leaning. Psssssst.....there are people from both political perspectives in every economic class.

I don't think Carson has a clue as to politics and the few times he's offered up a bit of policy, I'm left scratching my head. When's the last time we had an "outsider" for prez? Well, never. You could say Reagan, but he was a governor. Fiorina's take on what she would do "1st day in office" as re: Iran or Putin is just plain hysterical. Trump the same way. You don't just go in and start dictating to the world with a "my way or the high way" approach. They don't have a clue about foreign policy as is clearly displayed in their debates. Trump said, "they're laughing at us", and he's right, the world is laughing, at him in particular.

As someone who is obviously way left and extremely negative to anything remotely conservative, I am not surprised by that.

All I ever hear from the conservatives is more tax breaks for the rich, anti-gay bigotry(FTMP), racism, anti-abortion militancy, privatization of everything and gutting of anything public--including public schools and social security--devotion to war and unwavering submission to AIPAC and Israel, opposition to the climate issue, pandering to the evangelical base, complete opposition to Labor: have I left anything out? So, I'm quite ok with being "negative" to conservatism.

Carson would be a disaster as prez. Carson says he wants to privatize the VA, LOL, and of course, he went all "Trump" on the entire Muslim population in the USA, LOL! Bernie or Hillary would tear him to shreads in a debate, I mean seriously. It is also rather inconvenient for Dr. Carson that he is a 7th Day Adventist, who happen to believe the Pope is the Anti-Christ. Really bad timing on that one.

As to the Repub party at this point, I think you guys have a real problem when your new champion is Kim "Family Values!" Davis and the massively popular Pope is champion of the left. The RNC doesn't want Trump and the rest of those bozos don't have a chance, Bush is the Establishment guy, but he's "low energy" and a poor performer, like, when he opens his mouth. I think your party's in trouble, my friend.

What a crock this has been made out to be. He said that he could not support a Muslim to be President. He didn't say one can't run.

What is actually really laughable when liberals flat out state that they don't support a President that believes and follows his or her Christian beliefs.

I must say, this is quite possibly the strangest set of front runners for President I have ever witnessed. I'm not necessarily saying it's bad....(well, some are, but there might actually be someone good come out of this group).

Trump.....town idiot. Not much else needs to be said about him. He just needs to go away. Raises serious issues and doesn't have a filter but has no tact and wouldn't trust him farther than I could see him...Nope

Sanders.....Admitted socialist that looks more like some mad scientist that crawled out of his basement to show the world what he has discovered. I do like how he must now be spending money on someone actually combing his hair. Colonel Sanders looks more Presidential than Bernie Sanders. Like some of his ideas in principle but takes most of them too far to socialism...Nope

Fiorina.....Definately looks the part of a President but has absolutely no political back ground or experience. Definitely has experience running a large organization into the ground...Nope

Clinton.....Well, that name alone makes me not interested but she is definitely the most polished politician in the group....not necessarily a good thing. She obviously is good at saying all the right things to get her base frothing at the mouth...As stated, name alone is enough, not to mention the crap she spews...Nope

Carson.....Definitely successful at bringing himself out of poverty as a kid. Looks Presidential and is very smart. Not much of a ball of fire in front of people in debates...Not sold but out of this list, definitely the most realistic candidate for me

Surely someone is going to come out of this group and show me they deserve to be President and can do the job. But, this group definitely is different than any other Presidential election candidates.

Your assessment of the candidates are fairly close to mine. I'm more willing to give Fiorina more of a chance. You say she ran HP into the ground but at the same time, there was a huge tech bubble that occurred that had something to do with that. Anyway, I'm willing to give her a chance.

I like Carson and he obviously is someone who is extremely impressive. I'm just not at the point that I'm wiling to say he is "my guy" yet.....well, I'm not willing to say that about anyone.

There is one thing that absolutely makes me happy in all of this. The three leaders in the Republican party have never held public office before. That tells me the people want change and Republicans are at least willing to look outside of Washington for that change.

Regarding Fiorina, I would direct you to this article and would be curious to see if your opinion changes: http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/09/carly-fiorina-ceo-jeffrey-sonnenfeld-2016-213163

I do have concern regarding how religious Carson is. I have no problem with someone being religious but if your beliefs get in the way of the constitution and the law, well that's not gonna fly.

Interesting article. I will take it as one person's opinion and think about it. Obviously the guy does not like anything about how she ran the company and he might have some good points.

Well, when he says:

"I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that," he said

he's basically playing--or is sounds like--the bigotry, fear mongering, racist card and that turns Muslims and others against him. He can't unring that bell and that's his problem. I think he should keep making similar idiotic, politically suicidal remarks.

Liberals don't care what a President's religion is as long as they don't govern according to their specific religious biases, i.e., separation of Church and State. Kim Davis, perfect example. The Right Wing obviously panders to the Evangelical base and some, like George W actually invoke their relationship with Jesus as guiding them in policy matters, like, say, going to war with Iraq.

IMO though, things like her forcing HP to buy her a Gulfstream Jet (a $36 million jet), the brilliant decision to buy that awesome company, Compaq, HP's current stock price and the layoffs, to name a few, are more than enough for me to rule her out.

BS....

So, when you or someone else says they couldn't support someone who holds their Christian values close to their heart.....you or they are being racist, fear mongering (to anyone who doesn't like Christian) or being a bigot?

Look, if someone is openly claiming to be a certain religion, they are going to govern in part due to their religious beliefs. It is almost impossible to separate the two.

You don't like the right wing because they pander to the Christians. Are you saying Christians don't deserve to be listened to? Are you being a bigot by saying that?

Decisions to purchase various companies or enter in certain mergers that may or may not have worked out are well worth a critical eye. However, I know enough about how stock prices work and how layoffs happen that I can't hold that against a manager. Stock prices are fickle and many times don't resemble reality even though they can greatly affect a company. Layoffs sometimes just have to happen. I know every liberal in the world screams and hollers about how horrible they are because of the big mean company and the big mean person at the top. But, it's a fact of life. I had to do that in 2009 and it was one of the most miserable years of my life. But, our company wouldn't be here today without them.

I think it's your intense commitment to profits over people that makes you my hero, amigo. I think you admitted to preferring top down tyrannys a month ago or so, so at least you're honest. You know, as long as Fiona and those like her could have her private jets and golden parachutes for f'ing up a company and damaging 1000s of lives in the process, what the hell, right, no skin off your back. Fiona wants to do business with Iran while at the same time going to war with Iran, what the hell, as long as there're profits to be made!

That's the Republican Party, right there, in a nutshell.

In fact, she and Mein Trumpf have a lot in common in that regard and because of that, I think they should become running mates. That's why they call it a corporatocracy....

Oh yea definitely just one person's opinion and obviously with some bias. IMO though, things like her forcing HP to buy her a Gulfstream Jet (a $36 million jet), the brilliant decision to buy that awesome company, Compaq, HP's current stock price and the layoffs, to name a few, are more than enough for me to rule her out.

I take your criticism to heart and will consider it when making a decision.

LOL.....And another post that reminds me why I don't take your posts seriously.

What a crock this has been made out to be. He said that he could not support a Muslim to be President. He didn't say one can't run.

What is actually really laughable when liberals flat out state that they don't support a President that believes and follows his or her Christian beliefs.

If someone is a religious fundamentalist, then clearly that is something to take into consideration when voting for them. That's a bit different than a blanket statement saying no "insert religion here" should be elected. He's lumping all Muslims together and making a generalized statement. What exactly would you call that?

It's also hilarious that he complains their values aren't compatible with the Constitution, when the Constitution has language against religion as a deciding factor.

So yes, he's being discriminatory and hypocritical. It's just a few more reasons why he's unfit, and will not, be President.

----

Also, I realize Sanders says he's a Socialist, but he's really not. The closest he compares to is a Democratic Socialist, which is not a socialist in the more like a communist sense.

And as far as I can tell, he's the only candidate who's actually for the people.

Didn't Carson sort of just do the same thing?

I have no problem if you're a Christian and President. I have no problem if you're Muslim and President. I have no problem if you're atheist and President. None of those preclude you from performing the job of President. I do care if you're overly devout and let religion get in the way of effective governing.

Really? So, then aren't you a bigot against Christian fundamentalists if you would not support one? The constitution doesn't make the distinction. Carson is being slammed in part because people are claiming his view is unconstitutional which is a crock.
