VectorVictor
Chatelain makes some decent points, mainly that Riley's honeymoon is over. But this loss is nowhere close to as bad as some recent losses, such as Wisconsin last year or 2012, or UCLA in 2013. Illinois is, at best, the worst team we've lost to since ISU 2009. Illinois is probably the worst team, but this wasn't the worst loss. Watching helplessly as Melvin Gordon sets the NCAA f'ing record for rushing yards was 10x worse. Watching unranked 7-5 Wisconsin boatrace 10-2 Nebraska for 70 points is 10x worse. Don't forget the Texas Tech debacle. That was decidedly worse, since Tech had inferior talent *and* hung 70 on us. ColoradoHusk
Can we stop nitpicking an article or post and arguing over other stuff that isn't even the basis of the main article? Dirk's point is that Riley and Langsdorf lost this game for NU. Who really cares about comparing different losses in NU history. 4 Quote Link to comment

MichiganDad3
We are discussing if today's loss was the worst in history way too often. I want to discuss if today's win was the best in history. 3 Quote Link to comment

74Hunter
Following an uninspired fourth-down call wouldnt a punt have been more effective? Illinois marched 72 yards and won the game. The honeymoon is over, folks. Nebraska is 2-3. Mike Riley and Danny Langsdorf lost this football game with dreadful mismanagement, not just of the clock, but of the entire offense. Over and over, rather than feeding Ozigbo and Andy Janovich, they let Armstrong heave deep balls like a fourth-grader playing 500 at recess. This was Bill Callahan at Iowa State in 2004. This was Shawn Watson at Missouri in 2009 (luckily, Ndamukong Suh bailed him out that night). This was a debacle far worse than Texas 09 or Wisconsin 12. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/chatelain-pin-this-loss-squarely-on-riley-and-langsdorf/article_899171ee-6a2e-11e5-8f5e-b770878cd57d.html How rich for trollio to be writing this crap since he started the brewhaha with the former coach. Dirty Dick actually is talented as a writer, but he is a stupid troll. Quote Link to comment

Dirk's point is that Riley and Langsdorf lost this game for NU. Who really cares about comparing different losses in NU history. Agree. So what do we do? We all are chanting "Fire Riley" and his staff but there's probably .000001 chance of that happening even though I would love to see it to show the country we are serous about winning and won't accept this but ... won't happen. So we just suffer through this season and then drink the koolaid for next Fall? We've replaced a coach who would lose 1-2 games a year in horrible fashion with a coach who might win one big game a year but lose the majority of the rest. Bleak-looking future:( Quote Link to comment

ColoradoHusk
Dirk gets labeled as a "douche" because he's not afraid to be critical of coaches. Dirk grew up in Nebraska going to games and watching championships. He has those expectations. If the coaches aren't meeting those expectations he will call them out. Yes, he can be very snarky, but I think he is a good writer. I am not Dirk, lol. 1 Quote Link to comment
