The General Election

Recommended Posts

Honestly, people have scandal fatigue with Trump, I think. Clinton enjoys this on some level too, but not to this degree. When people say he has done SOOOO many things that would have sunk any other political candidate, it's in no way hyperbolic.

Speaking of Cheeto Jesus, he may be close to breaking his leash again.

You cannot make this up. Lol

The first poll is in that is all post-debate. It's a PPP (D) poll that shows Hillary up 44 to 40 in a 4-way race, with still 9% not accounted for. The last PPP poll had Hillary up by 5. My guess is that other polls post-debate will show some movement toward Hillary, and then those slight gains will go away after a week, especially if Pence does well at the VP debate. It's odd to me that we consistently have around 6 to 10% of the population that still has not made up their minds yet, so I guess we'll remain in suspense on which candidate they break for on election day.

Inside the numbers in the new Emerson Nebraska poll:

In historically red Nebraska, Trump leads Clinton by 27 points, 56% to 29%, with Johnson at 7% and Stein at 1%.

Nebraska is the second state Emerson has polled where Trump has a positive favorable/unfavorable ratio (50% to 45%). Clinton has a ‐37 deficit (30%/67%). In the Cornhusker state, Trump leads in Congressional Districts 1 and 3, by margins of 53% to 29% and 65% to 20%, respectively. However, in District 2 he only leads by 9 points, 49% to 40%.

Could Nebraska's 3rd district be the largest Trump margin in the nation at +45?

That's pretty embarrassing.

Found out last night that Trump is coming to Loveland Budweiser Events Center (about 10 miles from my house).....uhhhhm, no I won't be going.

They said he is trying to "lock up" the tight race in Colorado. My first thought was, he would have a better chance if he stayed away and didn't open his mouth anymore. It still amazes me that people are treating this farce like it's a real presidential election race. What a joke.

JJ, I hope you help ensure a Trump loss in Colorado. It might be a pretty tight race there. 9 electoral votes, winner takes all. They're both low 40s, this is margin of error type stuff.

Donald Trump: heroic defender of women (in that Mad Men kind of way)

Lawsuit: Trump wanted to replace unattractive female employees

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump allegedly wanted to fire unattractive female employees at one of his golf resorts, according to a 2012 lawsuit.

A sworn declaration from Hayley Strozier, the former director of catering at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., alleged that Trump pressured the management to fire unattractive hostesses and replace them with more attractive employees.

"I had witnessed Donald Trump tell managers many times while he was visiting the club that restaurant hostesses were 'not pretty enough' and that they should be fired and replaced with more attractive women,” she said, as reported first by the Los Angeles Times.

Strozier added that the management would often adjust the schedule “so that the most attractive women were scheduled to work when Mr. Trump was scheduled to be at the club."

The restaurant manager at the time, Sue Kwiatkowski told the court Trump specifically instructed her to hire "good looking hostesses."

“Donald Trump always wanted good looking women working at the club. I know this because one time he took me aside and said, ‘I want you to get some good looking hostesses here. People like to see good looking people when they come in.’”

According to the LA Times, "the bulk of the lawsuit was settled in 2013" with nearly half a million dollars going to plaintiffs. There was no admission of guilt on behalf of the club or the Trump Organization.

Since he apparently wants to start digging into Bill's history with women, it's appropriate to examine more of his own history with women and his respect for them. He seems to have this mindset that he can cast himself as great for women, in spite of all the horrible things he's said and done to them, because he employs them.

This facade that Trump is some champion of women because he hired them in his company is just a complete and utter joke.

I just posted this in the wrong forum, but I think that both candidates need to have their track records under review on how they've treated women over the years. Hillary certainly has a poor track record of defending sexual predators and showing a lack of compassion for female victims.

I'm not saying Trump should be overlooked for any of his comments. Lord knows on here and in the rest of the Progressive left of America every single thing he has said is making the rounds, but the coverage needs to be evened out. Most of the coverage in the 90s was focused on the Lewinsky scandal which was fully consensual. Glowers and Paula Jones also were brought up but were dismissed as key stories. Broaddrick's story never got the attention it deserved. Also, Hillary was not running for POTUS in the 90s, so her role in defending a male predator and attacking these women was not the focus. She is now running in 2016 claiming to be a champion for women which is completely ludicrous.

Let's not also forget that Hillary's first case as an attorney in 1975 was defending a child rapist. In an interview she did in the 1980s, she admitted she knew he was guilty and laughed about it. This, along with her treatment of Bill's victims, should all be fair game if Team Clinton is bringing up all sorts of statements from Trump's past. The next 40 days should be quite the fight.

The woman that Hillary brought up in the debate that Trump called Miss Piggy has quite the interesting record. First off, I don't condone Trump's language, but with that said, I wonder if Team Hillary did their homework about her. She threatened to kill a judge and has starred in some porn where she stated:

"Oh your d***, my love, what a tasty d***! Your d*** is divine,'" she moans while they romp

I'll admit she has some nice assets. :)
