knapplc
Of note, in defense of Helu, that Missouri game featured a Husker record for single-game rushing yardage, and he got the last 20-30 yards of it against stacked fronts because Mizzou knew we were feeding him for the record. He fought through some tackles for those yards. There are more examples, but that's just off the top of my head. Still, I voted for Rex & I'm comfortable with that. Quote Link to comment
TGHusker
This was difficult. I went wt sexy rexy. Because - he wasn't a sexy runner - he was all determination and fight. A bull dog. Helu was amazing as well. We also can't forget the injuries Rex fought through and basically curtailed his senior year. Quote Link to comment
Scarlet Overkill
I can't remember Rex ever losing a yard. Even when he was stopped, he still got 2-3 yard gains. Quote Link to comment
B.B. Hemingway
How spoiled were we at that position with Helu/Burkhead/Abdullah one after the other.... I voted Rex, but it's so so close. 1 Quote Link to comment
chamrocck
I vote Rex. Rex was the junkyard dog as advertised. Got extra yards where there were none. Not the homerun threat Helu was but Rex hit a lot of singles and doubles and kept drives moving. Every team is better with a Rex. Consistently solid. Quote Link to comment
Moiraine
Helu was the better RB. Burkhead was fun because he so often got something out of nothing, but Helu didn't have to rely on doing that as often. 1 Quote Link to comment
