ColoradoHusk
I’ve heard Cam is a monster in the weight room, so I think he will be able to add the necessary weight. They say he’s the best blocking TE, so he will be a natural o-lineman. I like athletic and smart centers, so this could be a great move for him. I think his talent would have been wasted on TE. 2 Quote Link to comment

They aren't built anywhere near the same way. But, like you said, they know him better than anyone I know it was 40 years ago, but NU had a pretty quick and athletic center in the early 1980s. He even won Big 8 Offensive Player of the Year. You might have heard of him, guy by the name of Rimington. 1 Quote Link to comment
Toe
I hate to say it, but this feels like a desperation move, trying anything they can to make the O-line suck less. 2 Quote Link to comment

Possible, but this is a move to make the team the best in the long-term. There are a number of guys who can play TE, and we are recruiting good LB’s behind Jurgens this year. If he can be a stud center, that will help the offense immensely. Quote Link to comment
InOmaha
He'll do whatever they want, but a Kelce type tight end would open up our offense. 1 Quote Link to comment
YellowShirt
I am guessing locking up Henrich and Hickman helped make this decision a bit easier. 1 Quote Link to comment

I think we have decent tight ends right now, and Hickman could end up at TE, as well. Jurgens is a great blocker at TE, but do we know he’s a great receiver, as well? 1 minute ago, JimmyBuckets said: I am guessing locking up Henrich and Hickman helped make this decision a bit easier. This!! Henrich will be a starting MLB his sophomore year and Hickman will add depth to the TE position. 1 Quote Link to comment

Henrich will be a starting MLB his freshman year. He is that talented. 1 Quote Link to comment

I like Henrich (especially as a Burke alum) but he’s not coming in and starting next year. Barry and Honas will be ahead of him. Quote Link to comment

Even if he was an inch shorter, that’s a good frame for OLB. It would still be tough to start at OLB as a true freshman. He would have to do a TON of work in the weight room. Quote Link to comment
YellowShirt
Now the real question is do they play him at center at all this year with the 4 game rule Quote Link to comment

My guess is that they try to redshirt him this year to put on the necessary weight to hopefully start at center next year. Quote Link to comment
