I've looked a couple of times to try to find where I said I'd take the under on 20 wins.  I can't seem to find it so maybe (hopefully for my sake) I just made that up.

But I will admit I was definitely wrong about this team coming into the season.

I don’t even want to go back and look at my prediction.  I thought this team had zero chance without Walker.  I thought KT was unreliable and had too much hype.

Awesome to be wrong.

I'm cautiously optimistic that they will be better than last year.  I think they have a lot of pieces to be a good team.  The biggest question in my mind is how team chemistry will work out.  It certainly doesn't help that Tominaga & Mast won't be on the trip to Spain and may not be back on campus at the start of the school year depending on how well their national teams do.  They aren't going to be a Sweet 16 team, but they should at least be an NIT/bubble team.

I agree that if they aren't better this year Hoiberg will be gone.  I think the one thing he has going for him is that he changed some of his philosophy to fit the B1G instead of trying to make everyone adjust to him (unlike Frost), so as long as they show progress he will stick around.

Looks like I at least thought they'd OK this season.

I think Hoiberg's coaching philosophy has not changed since he's been here. He's still running about the same sets since we hired him. His change, was in how and who he's bringing into the program. Instead of getting guys like Mack, he's getting guys like Griesel, Gary, Bandomel, and Williams. Guys who don't need to have the ball in their hands 100% of the time and also can/will work hard on defense. He's also got guys who can shoot and make shots from distance and around the basket. Talent evaluation is the biggest difference from his first teams on this one.

I'm pretty sure it's changed quite a bit.

His first three years we were #40, #40 and #35 in pace of play.  The last two years we've been #228 and #173.

His first three years we were #349, #281 and #349 in True Rebounding Percentage (percentage of rebounds we got).  The last two years we've been #246 and #178.

His first three years we were #331, #294 and #347 in Offensive Rebounding Percentage.  The last two years we've been #313 and #233.

His first three years we were #123, #100 and #238 in Assist Percentage.  The last two years we've been #179 and #52.

His first three years we were #311, #236 and #181 in Effective Field Goal Percentage.  The last two years we've been #142 and #93.

We've slowed down, been more deliberate on offense, gotten better shots and concentrated more on rebounding.  All pretty significant changes.
