RexIsMyDogg
Sources say O'Brien has garnered interest from the Vikings and the Texans. I think most thought it was only a matter of time before he returned to the League. Great coach and great person. Just hope he gets a better QB to work with than Christian Ponder or Matt Schaub/Keenum. I think he would prefer to bring Hackenburg with him as he seems like a sure-fire NFL starter someday. If he leaves, could Penn St. possibly top his hiring? Who would they get? Kubiak? Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Bo Pelini, obviously. 1 Quote Link to comment
RexIsMyDogg
Oops. Forgot to put Bo as an option. Sorry. Quote Link to comment
teachercd
He can't wait to get back to the NFL...I am still not sure why he is a "great" coach but I am sure he wants to leave the college game, quickly. Quote Link to comment
Ric Flair
Seriously though, isn't the Penn State job one of those that Pelini has been angling for? Quote Link to comment
kchusker_chris
Seriously though, isn't the Penn State job one of those that Pelini has been angling for? not that i've heard - though it's probably a top-15 job so i'd think anyone looking would be after it. Quote Link to comment
Danimal
Since the NCAA backed-off some on the sanctions thought he'd probably stick it out, but I'm not surprised at all if a couple NFL teams are looking at him. He has a better resume than about anyone else they're likely to get. Quote Link to comment
Army_Allen
Seriously though, isn't the Penn State job one of those that Pelini has been angling for? From what Benning said, Pelini put his name out to the Penn St. guys when they lost Joe Pa and they turned him down. I have no clue if he would put his name in the hat again or if they would give him the time of day this go around but I wholeheartedly believe Damon is telling the truth about it. Some more links in this article regarding that... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/991157-could-bo-pelini-be-the-next-head-coach-for-the-penn-state-nittany-lions I like the Carl Pelini denial of the FAU rumors...only to announce he was leaving for FAU 2 days later haha. I'd forgotten about that. 1 Quote Link to comment

The "experts" might change their mind if they are watching Miami get rolled by Shawn Watson and Louisville... Bridgewater should leave early. Kid can make all the throws. I would imagine the Texans would get him. Quote Link to comment
sd'sker
generally i root for opponents to be weakened, but with how bad the B1G is we desperately need to keep our quality coaches. this is not good news. Quote Link to comment
skersfan
Personally, I think it sucks if he leaves. He made the kids promise to stay, recruited them into a bad situation. Told them loyalty, dedication were the most important things, and then more money and off he goes. Of all places he should have finished out his initial recruiting class at the least. I read somewhere that this is not a done deal and he is staying at Penn State. I hope he does. He had done some fantastic work there. Two more years like the last and he will be worth far more. I have liked him since he got there, I hope his word to the kids is more important than a bigger pay check. Quote Link to comment
Danimal
The "experts" on ESPN think it will be Golden. Ya, he gets brought-up a lot. While he had a tough situation when it looked like the NCAA would be dropping the hammer I can't say I've been that impressed with what he's put on the field at Miami. Many cane fans are actually hoping that PSU will make a move. As far as O'Brien goes I hope he sticks it out at PSU but I'm not surprised a bit he's getting major pro interest. Has a better resume than about anyone else the Texans could get. Quote Link to comment
