WE NEED AN ANGEL BO PULLS THIS ONE OUT MARK IT!!!
HuskerCarter replied to HUSKERFOREVER38's topic in Husker Football
At this point I'm having flashbacks of the Big 10 championship game... -
I agree. Let's put Fyfe in.If he does bad. Let's put Stanton in. If he does bad, let's blame Beck and Bo on how poorly they can recruit QB's to Nebraska.

Yea, it seems like the run game was setting up for the pass later, but it never worked. TA is passing it too high and not hitting the receivers. Now we can't run the ball or pass the ball. AA is hobbled as it is, you need to have success in the passing game, even in the short passing game to open things up more for AA to get those bigger runs. I agreed the PI on DPE, but not with Kenny Bell. Tommy looked like he was throwing that ball as far as he could, regardless of where the receiver was.

Wisconsin and Nebraska Senators Friendly Wager for this weekend

Rivalries are born from wagers. -
we'll stand by the road

Well now we have another trophy to play for
HuskerCarter replied to Sker4Ever's topic in Husker Football
I don't know. I feel like folks are ripping on this trophy and the idea behind it because of its intention to honor Nebraska/Wisconsin veterans through a college football game. It feels to me that folks are upset that veterans are being honored with it. Like if your gonna make a rivalry trophy between Nebraska and Wisconsin, leave the veterans out of it. I see it as an opportunity for both universities to really use it as a platform to help veterans in both states and communities. That's my 2 cents on the subject. -
I wondered to myself last night, what kind of collegiate trophies will Randy Gregory take with him if he leaves this year? Is it something that interest him personally? Is that something that might keep him at Nebraska one more year?

OWH Shatel discusses possible trophies for UW - UN
HuskerCarter replied to Eric the Red's topic in Husker Football
I guess we should ask ourselves, is there a difference between a trophy and a rivalry? Personally I think a trophy shouldn't be forced like the Iowa/Nebraska one. It should be a stolen object that a chapter of one of the schools steals during a football game. -
That if we win the west, we'll more than likely see OSU in the championship game. I expect rankings wise, OSU will move up to #10ish, MSU will drop to either #13 or #14. NU will drop as well to just below MSU.

Let's Admit that Wisconsin Scares Us . . .
HuskerCarter replied to HuskerinSunDiego's topic in Husker Football
That quote was officially been changed after the McNeese St. game. "The only thing we have to fear is AMEER HIMSELF" -
In order for our offense to be successful at Wisconsin, starts with the offensive line. I don't care whether its AA running, or Cross/Newby, or TA. None of them are gonna have success, if that OL can't block well.
-
Neither can we.

I'll agree with the under center argument. The only thing is, you won't be able to run the zone-read.

Coaches Poll - Moved up two spots
HuskerCarter replied to Hooked on Huskers's topic in Husker Football
I am a bit curious, when was the last time the Huskers were 8 - 1 into their season? -
No, I don't see them losing 4. 3 maybe, but not 4. Our defense is playing very well. That will keep us in some games. Our offense, even without AA, can still score, just not as well or frequently. If it wants to win out without AA, which I feel is very much possible, given the talent on offense, it needs to turn around on a dime very quickly. Wisconsin's offense is going to throw all it has against our defense, and if AA isn't able to play, our offense has to step up against the Wisconsin defense, otherwise its going to be a nightmare in Madison.

Armstrong's butterfingers have cost us Abdullah
HuskerCarter replied to HuskerNation1's topic in Husker Football
Member of the health staff told reporters it was a mild knee sprain. Bo said there was pretty good bruise on it, but they needed more time to analyze it and see how things turn out for him. He left knee was already injured a little bit earlier this season, wasn't it? -
I will admit, I wasn't on the QB coach idea at first, I felt Tim Beck was competent enough to handle it. He isn't. Doesn't mean we should fire the guy, but we need a true QB coach on the staff. One coordinator, 2 QBs, and they keep having the same issues. Poor footwork when passing, staring down receivers, and pre-determining where to throw the ball and not seeing the whole field. Reoccurring issues at QB development with the Huskers, my only reasoning for it, is lack of coaching at the position.

Matured Nebraska QB Tommy Armstrong set to face Purdue
HuskerCarter replied to zoogs's topic in Husker Football
In order to see an improvement from last year to this year against Purdue in Tommy Armstrong. No INTS. He does that, I'll consider it a step forward for him. -
So balance is his go-to strength? National Ranks 2011: Rushing 15th, Passing 104th 2012: Rushing 8th, Passing 88th 2013: Rushing 19th, Passing 95th 2014: Rushing 6th, Passing 78th No, but they are saying he is "breaking Osborne era rushing records and Callahan era passing records" "left and right" and even "pretty much all of them". If anything those stats show me how well we compare to other teams when running the ball, and how poor we are when it comes to passing the ball. Those stats don't prove balance, they prove how effective the run is and how ineffective the passing is at Nebraska.
