  1. With all the blatant violations in the south, really? going after Rutgers?
  2. Bait or not, was just making a point that the better team will not be representing BIG, like last year when OSU should have been in the playoff instead of MSU. It's true a first year QB got the jitters in a big game, to bad for the most part as he protected the ball well all season. Still there were just plain bad calls and ball spots in absolutely crucial moments, that is inexcusable and that crew was just a perfect storm of how not to put together a crew for an important game. Whats worse here in the end is that now we have Penn State as a BIG champ, beat them 49-10 but somehow they are the better team, sometimes the college football logic just goes into full idiot mode. As far as the 90's yea there were some ruined seasons there for OSU and good times for Wolverine fans, I took wins as a given in the late 80's and 90's, sort of a reversal of now, that was perhaps what took away my disdain for OSU. After win win win I got it out of my system I think, got older and you realize it's the same kids in different shirts yelling at each other. Usually for this reason I try and ignore the zealot's on both sides, it just seems like a waste of energy, it's like a war that goes on for a century and you ask, what was this about again?
  3. I dont know what your going on about, it's usually just nonsensical buzz words spite and vitriol instead of substance. I just posted facts regarding the game being like something that belonged in Texas rather then in Big 10. You just throw around internet meme's.
  4. Charles Woodson, Desmond Howard, Bo Schembechler, Jim Harbaugh, and may other great Michigan players and coaches were born in Ohio? I don't think anyone on that list would be considered Ohio State fans. Nah these guys..... "Kevin Schwarzel, the back judge, is an Ohio guy. Born in the state. Has businesses in Athens, Ohio. In this story from 2006, he admits being an Ohio State fan. And even more jaw-dropping: He was not permitted to officiate the 2006 Michigan/Ohio State game. It’s unclear why he was permitted to be part of this game." "Bobby Sagers, the side judge, is also an Ohio native, and recently was named to the Ohio High School Athletic Association Officials Hall of Fame … which is located in Columbus." "The lead official was Daniel Capron. Back in 2002, he was fired by the Big 10 for poor officiating of a Purdue/Wake Forest game. This is what Big Ten commish Jim Delany said at the time: “During the course of the game, these officials did not officiate well enough to meet Big Ten standards. Therefore, they will forfeit future officiating assignments.” It’s unclear when or how Capron was reinstated." Hell of a group there. I have never had much of a problem with penalties in a game, However this game ended up a sham. There were multiple blatant calls from interference to sportsman like 15 yarders not called, never mind the blatantly poor ball placements. It is what it is though and Ohio is going to get smoked by Gumps worse then UM would have been. Unless this crew shows up to bail them out, that is.
  5. All games but one as usual are likely at other teams home states or their conference zone. So... These teams should't even be in bowl games. Maryland vs. Boston College Minnesota vs. Washington State Northwestern vs. Pittsburgh Indiana vs. Utah And the rest. Nebraska vs. Tennessee It's basically a home game for them. Michigan vs. Florida State Toss up, UM might just not give a damn. Ohio State vs. Clemson Clemson is not very good, to many close ones vs mediocre teams. I didn't look where they play though. Iowa vs. Florida - toss up for me also, Wisconsin vs. Western Michigan Penn State vs. USC Hard to play in their home state with the time zone to boot, but USC is meh and Penn is up..........or are they?
  6. Yea he called out those officials, they made some crucial "mistakes", 3 of them were even born in Ohio, no bias there, no doubt. Really it's good to see someone have the balls to call out the bad ref's, I dont care who it is, the lack of accountability for the most part mocks and taints the integrity of the game.

Whatever happens Penn state hopefully wont get into the playoff, they would get destroyed. Speaking of being destroyed, Clemson has squeezed out to many close ones against average teams to make it, but they will likely since they did not actually loose to them, try as they might have. Washington looks very solid though, it's that or the Pac12 is that bad, but they do win convincingly either way. OSU is wonky and I dont see them doing well. Looks like Gumps again, unless Washington.........meh, as I write this I realized I sort of dont really give a damn . Going to watch a couple bowl games and call it a day likely.
  8. Congratulations! errr Penn state

Yea, sad isn't it, they have a tie breaker with that OT win vs OSU.

Sad? No - one of my students is a serious OSU pumper. Monday if PSU wins all I'll do is my weird grin at her all class.

      JJ Husker

The Playoff committee will have their work cut out for them if PSU wins the CCG....if Washington and Clemson don't screw the pooch.

  9. They also used to be called spoiler makers, in the 70's-80's as they often did just that to your season. But thats a couple decades back. But right now...........
  10. I just liked this picture Only Iowa equivalent I could find
  11. They will appeal as it is a bit harsh considering that this is pretty standard operating procedure in the sec schools. But they are not likely to get this overturned, So grats Huskers! and keep those wins coming.
  12. I have said it many times, Iowa is kryptonite to UM, has been that way for some reason, there is often that one team that just gives you a tougher game then it should or beats you.
  13. Well as long as Russia and Putin rejoiced with the results...

  14. Stocks in the toilet, dollar dropping like a fly, good times. Feels almost like Bush, wonder if pervy can get unemployment to double digits in 4 years

The dollar is currently at a 98, which is comparable to the 93 it was at 1 year ago. Actually it's higher. And the Dow Jones is exactly where it was a month ago. And according to online charts, did not plummet at all yesterday. Why don’t you spread misinformation elsewhere.

Except that he's not, as the futures index hit its threshold last night, bond indexes were down (except for the 10 year bond) because of sell-offs of the dollar (likely by China), and because of all this, the Fed will have to postpone raising interest rates yet again.

Ahhh, so things are currently fine. However investors who are leveraging the dollar and stock portfolios are now scared to do so.

  15. At least they were not Illinois Nazi's, I hate those guys.
  16. Does anybody still have to change their clocks? Have a pendulum clock, A cool bedside I dont want to get rid of and microwave, coffeemaker needs resets too.
  17. To bad, could have been 24-10 at half time with Tommy in. Comeback could have been possible, it's all borked up now. Glad the kid is on he's feet and that hopefully he will be able to play soon. Going to watch Washington for a bit. Don't forget to change your clocks.
  18. Feign constipation, go to bathroom, check for WIFI. If available, repeat as needed.
  19. So A&M ahead of Washington, ehem..

      The SEC sucks.

      Big10 is deeper and better.

  20. From top most corrupt/worst for the sport/conference etc... 1.Sepp Blatter 1.Anyone at the IOC 2.Roger Goodell 3.Bob Bowlsby 4.Gary Bettman I got a tie for first, had to add one of my own. Wouldn't add the other two(Jim and Greg) really, sure sec's priorities are what makes most of their conference a group of glorified high schools, but he did not harm them sports wise at least. Delany on the other hand did far more good for the conference then anything that could be considered detrimental to it's well being.
  21. Yes and playoff creep is something the NCAA was wary of between every step swearing the next step wouldn't come to pass. As for the bolded,I like to use the example of the NFL or the NCAA in Basketball. The playoff gets big enough you are determining who won the playoff instead of who the best team is. I know it doesn't sound like there is a difference but there is. The two examples I point to (they are getting somewhat old now) are the last time the New York Giants won the super bowl they went 9-7 in the regular season, lost 4 games in a row at one point, 5 out of 6 in a stretch and 5 out of their last 8 regular season games yet won the Super Bowl. Now they WON the playoffs but were they really the best team that season? My second example is in basketball, UCONN won it all in 2014 but only finished third in their own conference yet they won the big dance so does that mean they were truly the best team in the country that year? Or simply the hottest at the end of the season? My point is at some point it becomes less about finding out who the best team is and more about crowning a survivor. Where that line is exactly, I don't know. Edit: Thought of lots of other stuff.... in all fairness though that happens with a 4 team playoff too. Ohio State would have gotten blown out by Alabama mid-season in 2014-2015, but they were on a roll at the end so they won Yeah you could make the argument even pre-BCS. I could be wrong but I bet a lot of people would say the 83 team was better than the Miami team that upset them. So it again becomes a question like HuskerMav said, "In the end, what are we trying to accomplish? " It's another reason why I'm /meh about national championships. The trophies and the recruits it attracts are nice but I'd rather just win games. What do you mean "In the end, what are we trying to accomplish? " Huskers? Well win a championship, what else? Go to the Rose bowl?. Same for any other team. For the fans, knowing that a large enough group of teams was invited as to avoid leaving out a team deserving a shot at the finals, and most of all for fans to get some great entertainment. And no if you loose a game on the field, you were not better then that team, upset or not, because you did not loose on paper, on charts, on comparison to other teams, but on the field, and thats all that matters.
  22. Just curious, why does Huskermax charge to post in their forum?

I do give Max credit, he is able to get $20 a year from those lemmings to pay for his site, and he gets his site on 1620 the Zone's website (not sure if he pays for that though).

Interesting, especially that it goes back over ten years. Never heard of paying for forum use till the sports sites started doing it. One downside is that it keeps some of the conversations between fans from other schools down, hard to justify 20 bucks for a how do you do.

Oh man, I had forgotten about that whole legal thing they went through.

  23. Yea, though UM is not the only that can claim that. They also said the logistics of moving 110k people on a Friday would be to much as well. That one I could see, coupled with Friday work traffic it could be a nightmare. Then again this could happen other places to a lesser degree. I just watched that Barry Sanders highlight about 30 times... Goll he was good. Glad you caught that Matty, he was magic and I was privileged to have had an opportunity to watch him every week growing up, Never seen anyone like him before or since, I really hope that one day I will. In fact I'm so thankful for this guy I would cheer if Oki light got invited to the B1G along with Oklahoma.

  25. Not sure about that, for one it may be to exhausting and time consuming for the players. And really I dont see number 16 team being good enough to win it all. really any team above top 10 wining is very very unlikely. But looking at the current CFP rankings, most those top 10 teams could have a shot at making the finals. But yea, eight would feel a bit more grand, like more of an event. The only problem as now is the damn bowl games, you are still going to have this outdated model where each game is a bowl game in non neutral territory.
