  1. On a scale of 1-10, how irritated and/or pissed should I be that one of the people I share my Netflix account with (brother/sister-in-law, mother/father-in-law) upgraded my Netflix account to the Ultra HD package without asking me? You have to do it from a logged in computer and not the app.

Bear in mind that I've never once asked any of them to help pay for it, but none of them have ever offered, either. It's only a $4/month difference, but to not even ask or gives a heads up?

I would say probably not pissed but definitely irritated.  That's pretty tacky.  Maybe they didn't really realize what they were doing?

  2. Random question: are football tickets subject to sales tax?

    1. Mavric

      Mavric

I've never seen a sales tax line on my ticket invoices from the University.  Unless they are rolling it into the price on their side (i.e., tickets sell for $60 but they already included the tax in that amount).

  3. Oldest piece of clothing that you still have?

I think mine is a frat sweatshirt @ColoradoHusk should remember it, blue one and the elbows are totally gone.

I still have some NBA jerseys that I had in high school (25-ish years ago).  They are in my kids box of different costumes that they bring out every now and then.  I don't wear them anymore for fear of being mocked on HuskerBoard.

The oldest thing I still wear is a winter coat I got in college (20-ish years ago).  It was on sale at JC Penny.  It was two sizes too big but it was cheap and I figured it didn't matter for a winter coat.  I only wear it when I'm going to be outside for a long time (running the snow blower, mainly) so it only comes out a couple times per year.

  4. What's up with tweets embedding differently today? Was there a software update overnight?

So now they're not embedding at all???

Could be.  I was trying to find something on the IP.Board but haven't found anything.  I did find some stuff from a couple years ago that said it was a Twitter issue so that would be my guess here as well.

Now I see what you're talking about.  I didn't think it was doing that to me yesterday.  Or even this morning.  Perhaps I just wasn't paying enough attention.

Not sure I guess.  I've posted quite a few and haven't noticed anything different.  :dunno

Kind of surprised they signed him given they were already in decent shape at RB and probably needed help more elsewhere.

Sucks that every time I see him play I'm going to be reminded of ... well.... you know...

Excited to see their offense this year.  They have some weapons.

I definitely go orange juice here.  Which is a bit odd because in basically any other setting I prefer grape flavor.  But not grape juice.  :dunno

  13. Watching the 1993 Orange Bowl on NBCSports and William Floyd loses that ball a whole lot further from the goal line then I recall.  Oh and this is a great refresher on how you used to be able to play defense

I've long said it's crazy how much the end of the Texas game mirrored the end of this game.  Score to go ahead.  Kickoff out of bounds.  Personal Foul penalty on our defense to help them out.  One second back on the clock.  FG at the end.

We got a horse collar call against Texas but basically the same thing.

Also didn't remember that Bennett has missed his last four FGs coming into the game.  Ouch.

Wow.  I didn't remember the gift call we got on the go-ahead FG drive.  Clester Johnson didn't come close to catching that pass.

Huskers driving.  Mid fourth.  Following a timeout, the announcers talking about how Frazier has played a good game and not made any mistakes.  Then he throws a pick.  :(

  17. Nebraska football in a nutshell is basically how many repeated blows can you take before you finally don’t care anymore. I don’t miss spring football or college athletics nearly as much as I thought I would.

  18. This staff has made 361 offers and gotten 4 commits. Why not offer every 3* in the country.

    1. Mavric

      Mavric

Last year at this time - without COVID complications - we had three commits.  We wouldn't get our fourth commit for two more months.  We still finished with a Top 20 class and the highest-rated commits we've had in quite a few years.

But people need something to write about.  And complain about.

@NUance the coaches' current view is they offer a lot of guys because it's much easier to get them to visit and really consider Nebraska if they have an "offer".  I'm curious how much detail the go into it but they are definitely not all commit-able offers.

  20. So if they keep college football going next season, our sellout streak is in big trouble.  Bigger problems in the world right now, but just a thought.

I guess I must be missing something.  From the graphs I've seen, we've pretty much hit the peak for the nation as a whole.  16 states are expected to be past their peak already.  Only four states - South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska & Wyoming - are not expected to peak until May.  Pretty much every state is expected to run it's course by June.  I'm sure there will still be some issues here and there but that would sure seem to leave plenty of time to have things ramped back up by August.  Even if they didn't allow fans I really don't see how they couldn't at least play games.

Either don't sell tickets at all or sell them for $1, even though they can't be used.

      +1 for both @teachercd and @ColoradoHusk

We always called it BW-3s or B-Dubs when I was in Lincoln but now that it's just BWW, I could never remember why we used to call it that.

  24. I've had tickets to all three games Nebraska has canceled in the past 50 years. 2012 & 2020 Spring Games, and the 2018 Akron game.

I also have my tickets for the 2020 season on order.

    Maybe I'm the bad luck.

    1. Mavric

      Mavric

Ha!  I can't remember if I had tickets to the 2012 spring game or not.  I know we didn't got but I can't remember if I had tickets and sold them or not.  But other than that, I'm in the same boat.

I was snooping in my parents closet...under a box there were like 3 magazines...one was a Playboy...I was probably like 11 years old.
