  1. Plans to visit this spring. Has already taken several visits and is thinking about committing by early summer.
  2. We were up against them for several this year. DT Abu Lamin chose them over us. Petyton Newell chose us over them. And, of course, McClain flipped at the end.
  3. Joseph Keels ‏@Jkeels_9 13m Cut 11 since I been tightening up and like I promised my first step will not be a weakness come fall. Joseph Keels ‏@Jkeels_9 11m I'll do whatever it takes to be great
  4. I'm sure Steve hasn't ever used this. Not even recently. Not with a kid who was currently committed to a Big Ten school.

  7. Garrison makes Rivals list of Top 25 Recruiters in the nation.
  8. A day after posting the worst defeat in the NBA this season - a 45 point beatdown - the 76ers are down 66-33 at the half. Good effort, fellas.
  9. I doubt it will be necessary. Last year he only had a few weeks to pick up the LB spot. Now he'll have all bowl prep, all spring and all fall for his natural position. He'll be in the mix right away.
  10. The 2014 class had two four star recruits according to 247's composite rankings (Farmer & Gates). The 2015 class has three already.
  11. Populations of state and border states as of 2013: Michigan - 9.9M Wisconsin - 5.7M Illinois - 12.8M Indiana - 6.5M Ohio - 11.5M TOTAL - 46.4M Nebraska - 1.8M Colorado - 5.2M Wyoming - 0.5M S Dakota - 0.8M Iowa - 3.1M Missouri - 6.0M Kansas - 2.9M TOTAL - 20.3 So over double the population in surrounding states. 25% of Nebraska'a total is Colorado which doesn't exactly crank out football players. And Pennsylvania is just around the corner for Michigan which adds another 12.7M which would basically give Michigan three times the population base. I think that's a lot of it.
  12. Was here for the UCLA game last year which he said was "insane". Might be up again this spring but no date set yet.
  13. I have yet to be convinced that most of the "offense" is not much more than contrived concerning most teams that use some reference to Native Americans. For example, I believe the Seminole people are supportive (or at least used to be) of Florida State's mascot but others find it offensive. One of my favorite stories on the subject was related by Larry Ribble who was the boys basketball coach at Millard South when they changed their mascot from the Indians to the Patriots. He likes to say that they "used to be the brave, valiant warriors and now they're just the people who took their land away." But I think Redskins is in a different category. Even if the people who used to be more widely referred to by that derogatory term are in a tiny minority at the present time, that doesn't change the fact that the origin was not to paint them in a positive light.
  14. Yep. I believe all the major sports do. . . . why? $$$$$$$ But seriously, I don't know. Here's a couple articles I found on a quick google search: Huffington Post: Why Does the National Football League Deserve Tax-Exempt Status? Forbes: Flap About NFL Tax Exemption Seems Silly
  15. Definitely more of a "stretch four" (read: power forward who can shoot outside) than a center or even a strong power forward.
  16. Interesting read Mav, +1. I'd consider Prater the only "miss". Enderle got torn apart when he came to Lincoln. Also interesting they said Baker will be competing at our Pro Day as OT. Yeah, I actually think it says more about the quality of players coming out of the state that only five went to NU than it does about NU passing on some in-state guys.
