  1. I think we are seeing the same AM from last year as far as passing. How many picks did he have last year? I don't see any improvement or regression in his passing. He can't run this year so I'm not sure what he's bringing to the table.
  2. Check OP to get the context. We look like crap on both sides of the ball.
  3. I hate to say this but I wouldn't be surprised if they've decided to pack it in for the year. It's a road game and cold. They need to win 2 road games to be bowl eligible. If they believe that to be unlikely then a win today doesn't mean much.
  4. Kind of depressing watching that video seeing OL flying around. I’m convinced TO’s offense would work well today. Block well and good things happen. Block poorly and it doesn’t matter what offense you run.
  5. Hopefully we can take down PSU tonight
  6. I have a solution but it doesn't look like you'd see it.
  7. My bad. All of these bad seasons are starting to blur together. I just ran out of fingers and toes counting the wins since 2014.
  8. Quick what year is it? If I didn't wake up from a 15 year sleep, why should I be content with the 2nd best defense in the past 5 years? Better than last year??? There was only 2 possibilities- stay the same or get better.
  9. They should put up a fence or something to keep our girls out of trouble. VB is all we've got!
  10. I think Wisconsin had a slew of running backs that didn't amount to much in the NFL.
  11. I remember that plane anecdote. After Frost signed the contract Moos probably said "Sucker!" and got him up to speed on what was going on with his beloved Huskers. We've had a couple of games with lower penalty yardage but with the Davis bros it's kind of hard to tell if the team is more disciplined and doing the right things. Someone should check out the plane after they get back from Lafayette. Talent issue is strange. Attrition adjusted recruiting rankings say we should have talent but the eyeball test says differently. Player development has been poor for a long time. I think we need to look into what these Life Skills (or whatever it's called) program people are telling the players. Maybe they are telling them facts like few players make it to the NFL and they should focus on classes, blah blah blah. That seems like it could demotivate players and almost guarantee that they don't make it to the NFL. Maybe the message should also be we're Nebraska and we put a lot of players into the NFL so statistics don't apply. I know I'm grasping at straws but something is going on in Lincoln.
  12. I know someone whose father has that job at another B1G school.
  13. It's funner being one of the unwashed peasants and letting your imagination figure it out. Not the who but the what. I'm convinced it involves a midget, cotton candy and tennis balls.
  14. Congratulations to these guys who are getting close to a viable ocean plastic cleanup system and already deployed a few systems to capture plastics at river source.

Some cultures just haven't developed a "don't s#!t where you sleep" mentality...

Maybe they thought the plastic was washing out to sea.  What the OceanCleanup guys found was the mass of the plastic accumulated in the gyre didn't have near the amount of plastic known to be discharged into the ocean.  Based on the dates of some plastics found in the gyre they didn't think the plastics were being broken down into microplastics and forming a smog that was theorized.  They believe that after a few years it washes ashore and a small fraction escapes into the ocean currents and into the gyre.  They may not be s#itting where they sleep but where their neighbor sleeps.  I know in the PI people are getting a lot more conscious of plastic pollution.  My wife and I sponsored a local beach cleanup which they had been conducting for a few years and they are making a huge effort to clean up Manila Bay.

@4skers89 The problem is, once the trash is ground up and pelletized, there aren't a lot of products that use them.  Every time you recycle a plastic, it loses it's physical properties.  So, virgin material is cheaper AND it makes a better product.

If I bought a load of recycled product, I have absolutely no clue what kind of quality I'm getting.  If I get virgin material, I know the exact cell classification, how it's going to process and the quality of the product that's going to come out the other end.  The types of plastics are an issue too.  Every type of plastic has certain properties that make it for a specific use.  You can't make a sewer pipe out of pop bottles.  You also can't make food or medical grade products out of the trash.

  15. RIP hotdog guy. I don't remember him and I'm not sure I'd eat one of his hippie-dogs.
  16. He could walk to the courthouse from campus so I don't think it's a transportation issue. I forget, is memory loss a side effect of pot smoking?
  17. Record under Pelini was OK but didn't help an outsider's perception where blowout losses in most big time prime time games provided the biggest impression. Of course, losing seasons in the last 4 of 5 has altered that perception.
  18. Something strange is going on in Lincoln. We used to turn 2 and 3 stars into 4 stars. Now we turn 4 stars into 3 stars. That's makes a turnaround difficult.
  19. Wow, that's astonishing. I know Nebraskans are conservative and figured there would be an overreaction to all the news about head injuries. On the other hand, the dream of playing for the Big Red should keep participation up. We have nobody to blame for the decline of the Huskers but ourselves. It's disingenuous to expect success from a sport that you wouldn't let your own son play. If I was a parent in Nebraska who didn't let their son play football because of CTE concerns, I wouldn't complain about the Huskers being bad. That's like insisting they need to import good players that are willing to take the risk. We've lost the core support for the sport in the state. We shouldn't be surprised or disappointed that the state's university program is bad.
