Just a thought from the past: (Chicago Tribune) College football has had many lows, and Jackie Sherrill has been involved in some of them. But the Mississippi State coach`s latest stunt definitely goes way below the belt, as some poor bull discovered. It has been revealed that Sherrill allowed a bull to be castrated in front of his team before Mississippi State`s game with Texas. He said he used it as an educational and motivational experience. (they did beat Texas too)

If the Texas teams would have left the championships in Kansas City and had refs that weren’t bobbing the Texas teams knob all the time, I think I would have enjoyed the conference. They cheated and didn’t care. With the B10, they are established and not going anywhere. I wouldn’t trust Texas in the next conference re-alignment. At some point it’s coming. I would be scared if I was Kansas, KSU, or ISU. Texas will look after itself and make sure OU is sucking the teet the whole time.

I was not thrilled with Frost bringing the D.C. but I was impressed with what I saw from that game. After watching years of just bad tackling, I loved the way their guys hit. Not perfect but a massive upgrade from the previous NU regime. My question about Frost was could he recruit. I'm amazed at what he's done in a limited time. It's the first time in a long time that I'm excited about NU football.

I'm on the record for thinking Chins will suck. Think hiring a more experienced DC would have been a better play. I figure they will better than Diaco and his crap but will struggle to be above average while at NU.

I just want to see effort, play fundamentally sound technique, pressure on their Qb, and a defense that fills lanes. It seems like I haven't seen that in forever.

The UCF QB isn't bad for the 315th ranked qb coming out of high school! The fact that Frost made the connection at a camp in Oregon, identified his talent, and signed him gives me hope for the future for NU...at least on offense.

I hope Chinander wants to stay in Florida. NU can do better.

This is not correct. Riley was trending down and there was no thought process other than hiring a "nice" coach who would contrast the previous. guy at NU. 5-7, 3-9, 9-4, 7-6, 5-7 Campbell is a winner. He's turning ISU around and are trending up. At Toledo 1-0, 9-4, 7-5, 9-2. 9-2 Iowa State 3-9, 7-5 It seems moot now that Frost is coming, but I'd much rather have Campbell than the A&M guy, Schiano, or some of the other names thrown out there.

If you win at ISU, you have done something. No one wins in Ames and the place is a graveyard. His teams play with passion, purpose, and have a plan. He's just as good as all the other coaches that are not named Frost. Not sure if anyone is giddy, but he can win against the big boys. He would be a big step up from the MR and BPs of the world that's for sure.

Surprised the Oline didn't stand around watching Cav carry the load.

SF turned NU down before. I'm not sold on his D.C. at all. He would jump into recruiting with the big boys. If SF doesn't come, I'm in the Campbell camp. Seems like he gets every ounce of ISU's talent. If you can win in Ames, it's a huge accomplishment. I'm going to support whoever until they prove they can't handle it anymore or look lost. Frost would get more time than anyone else. Unify everyone. Run the option now and then. That's a plus!
