  1. I could see how you would think that by seeing that gif without actually watching the play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QN7E3xu8FQ8 I make all my judgments about player effort based on gifs alone. If you have a problem with that.... I say good day to you sir. Good day.
  2. I kind of want to figure out a way to make this my screen saver or something. Best angle I've seen and shows the true violence Suh brings to the game. LOVE IT. I don't know who #23 is for the Lions, but that's an NFL DB just sort of lolligagging after a ball carrier, while a DT with 100 extra pounds on him has the closing speed to blast right by him and make the play. Cut that bum and put Suh at safety.
  3. I appreciate it, I just read this for the frist time and was amazed and enthralled! Fowler seems like reasonable bloke on the board, he had to have just been trolling back then right? Is it possible to be that dense?
  4. Really? UCLA's speed and play calling had NOTHING do to with it? C'mon, man. Bruleif, I'm not sure that you're really going to get much further with this conversation. The Huskers played like crap in last year's game, and UCLA was prepared to take advantage of it. On the field that night, UCLA was the better team, but obviously a lot of fans are still bitter about the loss. Hell, so am I. But you're an opposing fan on HuskerBoard, so there you go. At least you are attempting a real discussion here. On the Wyoming thread, there were a couple guys talking $h!t who had no rational basis to do so. At least you have scoreboard. I just hope we can beat the crap out of you next month and wash all of this away!
  5. For as terrible as that sounds, I agree with your theories. Some people should have the capability of having kids taken away from them. I should have mentioned in my earlier post that those are things we joke about in the office. None of us would seriously propose castrating our clients, as much as some of them might deserve it!
  6. Still up, too guys. Unfortunately my 2 year old decided to get up, too, so I had the opportunity to try to soothe her back to sleep. I was making some real progress on some court reports at the moment, too.
  7. I have some natural herbal lozenge things that contain melatonin and are supposed to promote sleep, but they don't help. Benadryl often does the trick for me if I take it early enough. But if I took it now at say, 2:30 a.m., I wouldn't be able to function very well later in the morning when I am actually supposed to be up. Anyway, I'm up but brought a little bit of work home so can at least be productive.
  8. I recognize that we aren't as relevant as we used to be or want to be, but it does not really bother me either. I hope that doesn't make me a bad fan or anything, but I'm content these days with an entertaining product on the field and having a school I can be proud of. Anything more relevant than that is just gravy to me.
  9. I have to stop watching these because if I see one more player do the palms out hands together glove pose one more time, I am going to drown puppies. Not only the glove pose, but these overly-dramatic "reveal" videos altogether. Look! Mediocre State University added a new hue to their color scheme! And new gloves! Cue the strobe lights and shadows!
  10. This has been absolutely amazing. We moved away from Lincoln a year ago and took our first drive around the Haymarket a few weeks ago since being gone, and we couldn't beleive our eyes. The whole area is unrecognizable compared to just a year ago. Lincoln is starting to show signs of vibrancy!
  11. I try to consider myself a "realist," but for this sort of game, the Kool-Aid takes over and I visualize something like a 63-0 game. Huskers to cover and the over! I also think we're gonna roll UCLA, but I thought the same thing last year as well.
  12. Having said that, though, if you are able to actually care for your kids, having them is the most rewarding thing in the world, despite the expense, lost sleep lost social life, lost sex, etc. But after having kids, you'll wonder how you managed to blow through so much free time and money without having appreciated it before you had kids.
  13. I work in the child protective business and a hell of a lot of resources go towards working with families who cannot afford to provide for their kids. In fact you could say that a typical case includes parents (often a single parent) living in poverty with oodles of kids, often from multiple deadbeat fathers. I and each caseworker in our office have multiple cases with this situation. It would actually save a ton of tax dollars in the long run in a lot of our cases to pay for a vasectomy for the fathers or tube-tying for the mothers who come into the system as opposed to the millions of dollars that we spend on services, casework, and foster care. In some cases, an un-anesthetized castration would be appropriate as well and would still save lots of money. But that sort of suggestion would only be caught up in legislative debate for years, I guess.
  14. Can't sleep? Bump this thread! i.e. tell me I'm not alone!
  15. Also, I don't remember a single thing about The Last Boy Scout except for this scene:
  16. Most of the good ones have already been listed, but I thought "The Express" was pretty good. Did anyone see "Leatherheads" with George Clooney and Jim from the Office? It was corny but pretty entertaining.
  17. I would love this. I'm a Broncos fan, and last year the Seahawks became one of the most exciting teams in the league to watch. What concerns me about the Broncos is injuries and depth.
  18. With the star power we already have at receiver, does this Reilly kid really have a chance at playing time? I haven't heard anything else about him - anyone have more info?
